Trail Report Jan 18-23, Saguenay Region
dooright replied to Flyin Brian's topic in Saguenay-Lac St-Jean
That was a '' peach '' of a ride , looked like you made the most of your one northern getaway this year. conditions are much better than some think after the rain. -
Happy to hear you made the trip , Enjoy !
-
Kanawata is about 40 miles off the 83, not a real option traveling east/west on the 83
-
We called the hotel Bernieres yesterday .. were told trail is all reopened now . Sounds like there was water over the ice on a few rivers that was the reason for the trail closure. The guy reports sleds going in and out no problem now.

about 90 miles by trail -
Our group came down 355 from Roberval just before the rain .. plenty of snow then, coverage won't be a problem. Domaine lac Edward is open.

Great report and pics ! Seems we ran a lot of the same paths . Did you feed the hungry grey jays at the M20/345 ? This pic is from sunday -
Day 2 of 2..... Spent the night at la Glaciere , nice to see lots going on there . Dinning room full , lots of trucks with trailers and sleds parked there. Party going until late. Sunday morning destination Marineau Matiwin for lunch Took trails 63 ,23, 345, 360 conditions all great , flat hard trail fresh groom all the way to the Marineau ! Return by trails 360, M20, 345, 360, 23, 350 Back at la Glaciere by 3:15 load up and back to Vermont. Trails showing some ice in the corners in the high traffic spots , good news snow was falling at a good rate as we were pulling out of Zenon.

Cool ... thanks for the info . I've seen the grader that scratches the ice road sitting at gouin. Keeps the sanding to a minimum for sure. -
