One of the most scenic sections of the Gaspe. Then turn around and head back up to trail 5. From hotel Plante to Baie Blue will be a long haul if you have the wives with you. Especially if you plan on going to Perce Rock. LaFrancis Hotel in New Richmond would be a good spot if looking to shorten that day up some. The picture of your sleds and significant others in front of the Rock is a "must do" on Gaspesie loops. Better leave early from Gaspe. Snowdevil
Our trip is fast approaching and would like to know if anyone has information on what the conditions are like as of now. we cannot find an accurate assessment of conditions and the interactive map doesn’t look promising. Once again we will be riding from fort Kent maine and spending 1st night in mount joli then on to cap chat , grand valle, gaspe , carton sur mer we just don’t want to come to the gaspe to rid marginal conditions and we are locked in to feb 4 to 13 2024 Any info would be much appreciated
smclelan
Conditions improving and new updates daily. I don't think you will have to worry about condition first of February in the Gaspe. MrGutz and wng-2
PMAC
As of now the #5 around the far eastern section is still saying closed .You may want to postpone your trip until after a couple good snowfall’s .
PISTON LAKE CRUISER
You really just need the 22 miles of trail from Mont St. Pierre to 597 to change colour then you could re route straight down 597 to 5 and either go over to Perce if you want or head west on 5. In my experience, yellow trails in Gaspe are better than many green trails in Ontario.
PMAC
There’s minimal snow in most places currently.Seen some pics that Jean Guy took around Amqui and it’s pretty thin.
Snowdevil
It looks like we are going to cancel or gaspe trip and just rent a house on lac etchemin closer to home where we can just leave from our houses here in western maine and ride up to. With that being said it looks like the only trail access on lac etchemin in right down the center, does anyone here know if the lake is safe and being traveled on and across ? smclelan
I would not cancel, trails are open and very rideable. You can loop across the top, down the 597 to Chandler and back to PALC without issue. Could it be better today, yes, but it will be better by Feb 4th. Florida Snowman
