snowfarmer
After getting some ideas from members on this board Nora and I embarked from the four points in Quebec today with out a real plan except where we are going to stay our first two nights on the trail. We decided to head east and try some of those trails you often drive by on the highway 40 , day dream about but some how never get to ride them! Then your wife bitches at you because you haven't been paying attention to her conversation because ... Well you get the point . Anyway 3, 302 ,351were great ! Gotta love those greens. Was getting a little hungry so we decided to try the Ferme la bisonniere on 3 just west of St Casimir I think.Score!! Great food neat place.good bison burger ! Btw there is a club of the ballet on the c3 out in the middle of dairy land! Hit the 3 again to the 351 to the Relais de la Station saint -severinHad a pop and moved on up the 360 to our lodgings for the night at Chez -Marineau in Rivière Matawin. 195 miles for the day and never really pushed.Got a great plate of ribs and ready to bed down for the night. Saw a lot of sleds today a few on my side that woke me up! Keep to the right :) Edited February 28, 2015 by snowfarmer

mcstar
Hey Dave, I was wondering where you had decided to start from and was waiting for your post! Sometimes, actually, most times "go with the flow" is the best way to go! Enjoy and keep posting! Say hi to Nora.
Magnus
I rode TC #3 yesterday from Quebec City to Saint-Marc-De-Carriéres and the conditions couldn't have been better. Took the 302 back and it was in great condition also. Enjoy your trip!

Nora kicking back at lunch Took 345 to 83 east which had been groomed up the last couple of days. Sun all day doesn't get much better. Will post some random pictures from today's tour. Not sure about Sunday . Heading to Valin.

snowfarmer
Left Windigo in good time this morning. Took 83east (groomer broke down last night going west between Windigo and Relais 22, it's on the trail, be careful if you are going that way) to Relais 22 and on to Roberval. Decided to take orange trail 711 to Saint-Felician then road oranges 715,701 a bit of green 367 more orange 903, then a bit of blue 93, more orange 900 and 902 thru Saint Ludger de-Milot, then a bit more 902 orange to Mount Vilain and stopped for night (former Scooby raid ). All the local oranges were groomed up perfect for the locals for a Sunday ride!@ 210 miles today . All is good!! Some more random pictures of today and yesterday. snowfarmer
Had a good stay at the new owner owned " Mont Valian" . Really nicepeople and with only taking ownership in December they have done alright. Thought the food was good and they will be making some changes and repairs for next season. Rode the "mountain" today mostly taking all orange trails today. 367 from the inn was fresh groomed to the 378 . 378 was good then headed into the mountains on oranges. It had snowed last night so had a few new iches of snow up to onatchiway all was good . Had a quick stop for gas and a drink and headed over to the east side. It snowed pretty much the whole way which added to the amount which had already fallen . It was a great day for riding powder but flatness of light and not be able to see some of those scenic views was a bit of a bummer. Grabbed lunch at the Chappelle and headed down the oranges to 328(snowing hard the whole time). Was going to head to the Delta but the wind had really kicked up (also a bit of white outs) we decided to head to Saint-fulgence and stay looking out at the Fjord. All these years of going north I've never seen the fjord. We are staying at the Aberge La Tourelle Du Fjord . It's on the north side of the river and its a very nice place. Met the owner , Norman .I asked where I could get gas in town and he said no station. They usually have a couple of cans full but they were out. He said he would go and pick some up , we went together . He just went out of his way to help. The rooms are nice with views of the river. Food was excellent ! They have a locked area for the sleds with a shelter to put them in. It's a bit of a hike off the main trail (14km) but they claim there will be trail change next year which will be make it about 6km to the inn. So not a big day (140 miles) but real quality! ! Many sleds of colour Views from the hotel bar Bedroom window Edited March 3, 2015 by snowfarmer

snowfarmer
Made it to the Manoir Richelieu. Have not been here in a while but usually you can shoot a canon through here , not this week it's a school holiday week. Holy!! Mental note don't stay this week ever again ! This place is packed! Anyway most all the trails were in good shape today except maybe 93 around St Honore . Little icey and rough but it sees a lot of traffic. Trails south of the river to the casino were mostly all groomed up recently..The " clermont express " was great today . 185 miles for the day.Not many pictures today it must of been a little colder because camera would not warm up . Just a few. The the last two pictures is of a couple of boats stuck in the ice on the Sagueny river and a ice breaker heading out to set them free.
