frankblume
What would be my best option for replacement carbides? Six or eight inch and which brand (OEM or aftermarket) will last the longest? All my riding is groomed trail riding, with the necessary road crossings and fuel stops. 182ray
I've had good luck with stud boy 6" shaper bar
smclelan
I agree with Ray, 6". 8" would be in my opinion would be too aggressive, unless you are running a 154" Expedition.
dooright
Track lug size , studs ... trail conditions and corner speeds... sled setup play such a huge part it what's the " best runner" for you to use . What can be a dream for one rider can be a total nightmare for someone else . I was a huge fan of the shaper bar on my 800's but not so much with my 1200's , so here starts the debate ! MrGutz
I was going to try the Shapers on my 1200, but only the 4s. What problem did you run into? GutZ
Saguenay Bill
When I had my 1200 darting was an issue until I put the 4" Stud Boy Shaper bars on it. I also run the same bars on my 600 ACES. Edited September 17, 2015 by Saguenay Bill
Pipeman
6" Bergstrom triple points, very durable and with his ski savers and shims they do not dart.
Phil 1
I've had good luck with stud boy 6" shaper bar. Have used them for years, a very good choice...
revct1
Here we're with Pipeman, we use Begstroms triple points. But Dooright is correct - here starts the debate. I read a lot on DooTalk and other forums. Everybody has their preference. Try a brand and if you don't like them, buy something else. Try riding a sled similar to yours. The carbides are only one piece of the handling puzzle. Jack & Sandi
