Monday December 29
Last day here in Les Escoumins. Up and we go have breakfast then suit up and head out. Grey sky and windy, storm is a coming. Today we head TQ3 east and run to left onto local orange trail to pouvoirie Shamrock.
Not far in, one sled oncoming left turn for him, not sure but my spidey senses were tingling was not liking his corner too much middle he is signing 1 behind but Mrs was still a ways from his corner. I tell her back it down. She is real close to starting her corner and here comes his buddy. Not in the middle of trail. No, fully on the left on a left hand corner. Missed a head on with my wife by inches. WTF unreal the morons who just don’t get it or are too stupid to be on a sled. Really discouraging to see this. I swerve over at this jackoff and he doesn’t even look at me. I came close to turning around and burning his assdown so i could ask him what is his major malfunction. Mrs Ice’s cooler head prevailed and though shaken, no harm done. She had nowhere to go,She was already in the sticks, stuck to the right because she knows how real riders survive, and its not riding on the left or middle. This guy is on trail riding like that. Very scary. Guardian Angels no doubt.
I asked her if she wanted me to lead I could hear her breathing deep breaths. She didn’t miss a beat and rolled on. She told me later she felt like “it was like she had to get back up on the horse”. She is a Rider this one.
Onward and down over the River Escoumins and right turn up to 330. Trails holding up but no grooming last night as they await new snow today.
At 330 we go left today and run 330 to TQ93. Here we head down and toward Coronet in Sacre Coeur. Thin here pretty boney, but all better now as I write, as its snowing like crazy here.
Quick stop Coronet and onward to TQ3 back toward Escoumins. We run back to Relais Bouleau x Blancs and its 1pm about but maybe 8 sleds(love weekdays). Snow has started now and is falling at a decent rate. Had lunch then headed back toward hotel. Decided to bonus ride to Les Bergeronnes cul de sac trail so down and back. Returned back to hotel just as storm decided to really ramp it up.snowing hard now.
Great few days nothing crazy but good shakedown ride.
For the record, I want to stay 3 more days. I was overruled. So depending on conditions of the road we will shove off from here in the morning.
Felt great to be back on the machine.
Until next time everyone.
PS Route 138 closed to truck trsffic now
