  1. why i am running a tread 8" overlander. i actually had a 5.5 for part of the season last year and the difference between them was huge.
  2. excellent heading to RDL sunday from Jackman on sled for the boys first saddlebag.
  3. is that the top of the ski area on 547 or is there another mountain you can go up?
  4. hell I have 500k on the sled, 1.5 million umbrella and I still would leave the 500k on there as I'd rather a Canadian insurance company being involved if theres an issue.
  5. la chapelle shows in the wrong spot when I just clicked on it by at least 20km but KM31 was in the right spot
  6. Chapelle to me isn't bad considering its 40 miles from town and theres no power but Apica should be able to be filled from a regular tanker truck run
  7. scorpionbowl is doing Gaspe this week, he'll probably post Monday
  8. thats mont apica, we stopped there the day John blew his chaincase out, that trail that sucked heading back to the HI was just past there heading north. Glad to see someones getting the miles in this year, I've not been riding much between the kids and the new job. No QC this year.
  9. Motopro I think the name is. been a couple years since I was there.
  10. Lithium Ions are the best in the cold. I can get 2-3 days from my GPS with LI batteries vs less than a day with regular batteries and my camera which takes AA goes a season with a set.
  11. doo makes an accessory kit with a pull start and new side panel but IMO why bother. Personally with the short pull of the Etec I'd have ordered without ES but with my 600SDI I've pulled the rope less than a handful of times in 4 seasons and you can clutch start it if needed very easily.
  12. the nuvi 500 is made for motorcycles and is waterproof like the Zumo
  13. if I didn't already have a vista hcx I'd look at the garmin nuvi500, same screen as a nuvi 200 for the car but waterproof and comes with both topo and city navigator nuvi500.
  14. it's nice they are open sunday mornings for a couple of hours as we discovered a couple of years ago when a sled in our group went down.
  15. auberge 31 from TQ93, can't miss it heading from Valin towards LaChapelle, unfortunately I'm one of the ones from Scorpionbowls group that won't be making it this year, change of jobs put a crimp in winter plans.
  16. From ft kent it's quick ride through Cabano and then up to Matane to catch the ferry but you'll need to ride 10 miles of NB or go way out of your way to go through Estcourt to do that. The area that borders maine is some of the best riding I've ever done from Jackman out to Matane. Never ridden the north shore from sacre coer to the ferry but my buddies say it's a real nice ride. Make it a big loop and come back the opposite way you head up. Quebec city to Ft Kent is a good day ride.
  17. Right around an hour, depends on border crossing time, last 2 times I went through it took under 5 minutes but had a friend who was held up there for several hours this past winter.
  18. Gary happy birthday. Hope this year brings you many more miles and no breakdowns on the trails.
  19. marie was def cute, best thing about staying at Auberge 31 just wish she was there every night.
  20. the show is tripping on 2 wheels but can't find that it repeats either on the speed channel website or comcast search.
  21. 2504 here, just over 450 in Quebec, with snow in NH and buddies too busy to travel stayed close to home this year. 450 in Maine, 600 trailering to pittsburg and 1000 from my camp in ossipee.
  22. may want to look at the better chatterboxes(GMRS) they should have the range you want. we've gotten close to a mile from our regular ones but it's not always that way.
  23. still trying to figure out what to do for next year. THought I had found an 08 Renegade 600 with 800 miles but the guy had just sold it. THe 4 stroke does interest me as it's basically the same weight as my 05 so I wouldn;t miss the light feeling like I would coming from an XP
  24. they made check-in at goosebay and are 6:55 behind the leader based on the timesheets. With some good luck at the pace they ride they should be able to catch up to a fair amount of sleds tomorrow. They will head out 7:30 tomorrow morning after the required 16 hour layover and I'm sure Dana will update this site tonight.
