  1. Has anyone rode trail 595 from 5 to Richmond. Wondering if it is in good shape. Thanks .
  2. We have been riding for a few days here around LSJ and are headed back to the truck in the morning in St. Raymond. One of the boys have to go home home for a doctors appointment. Now the rest of us don't need to be back until next we. We planned on a trip up trail 3 and cross the river to Matane on the ferry. The snow conditions don't seem to be good enough for that adventure so i found out it's only a 2 and a half hour drive from St. RAYMOND to RDL. So off we are going tomorrow afternoon. Anyway my question is the 595 trail from trail 5 to New Richmond. Has any one been down it this year. We are going to yry RDL to Matane to new Richmond to Rumuski and back to the truck. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Made it to St Felicien last nite. Came around the lake on 93 and 373 back to 93. Well there is big open fields on that 373. Lol. Lots of drifts and i mean lots. David only got stuck once leading the way. I told him he wasn't going fast enough. He said something about not being able to see. It was an adventure. Heading to la tugue today and maybe farther. Time will tell. Be safe all
  4. The group of boys I'm with is all family with small children and they do think about their families also they respect what I have to say. Not that they don't have common sense it's they have respect. They also know it would be terrible for me if anything happened to one of them. They are all like my kids.
  5. Made it to the Delta last nite from St. RAYMOND. Trail was good and bad but mostly fine to ride on. Got our rooms and had dinner. Seen Bill for a moment and had the discussion about the storm coming in for today. He assured us it's not going to be good. Well he was right. Got up several times in the night and it was getting worse each time. Oh well i with some young bucks no problem dad we will be fine. Had breakfast and seen Bill and he said not good boys. Got packed and dressed made reservations in Alma. Went down stairs with the all the baggage. Seen Bill in the lobby and informed us rooms have opened up for tonight. Young guys saying we are alright. Out side they go to get the sleds unlocked and started. David says wait I need to talk to dad. Response to me was i got the same feeling as the last time we got into a blizzard in Gaspe. I don't think we should even unlock. In comes the other 3 boys and it's blowing and cold out there. We don't think you should go out dad. Of course they had big smiles because they didn't want to admitte it was bad. Anyway got the same rooms and cancelled our reservations in Alma and they are are headed to the donut shop. Getting a deck of cards and going to play some cards this Afternoon. Want to thank Bill because his concerns was a big factor why David said I want discuss this with dad. Tomorrow will be a better day. Well it's still snowing and blowing so it's a good day to watch tv and get a little bar time. Be safe everyone. It's always a adventure.
  6. Sounds good. Going to be in the LSJ area tuesday. Looking forward to riding.
  7. I seen on FMCQ trail conditions that the 63 trail east of Belleterre is closed. Something to check on .
  8. This happened to us in 2007 near Ville Marie. My son blew up a 800 renegade with 200 miles on it. We got it to the dealer near by and they flew parts in that nite. My boys rode double for a afternoon and morning and were back on the trail with a fixed sled in less than 24 hours. Was a little scary watching them ride double . Never new skis could get that high. Lol
  9. Quebec is always a adventure. Take my word tho. Most of the time the adventure is great.
  10. Glad to hear things are good there. We are coming to that area and decided to start from St Raymond. Drive up one day and spend the night and start the adventure the next day. Where is the best place to stay in St Raymond and leave our truck. Our plan is to spend 4 days in LSJ area return and drop a couple people off then the rest of us head up trail 3 to the ferry across to Matane back to the crossing in Levis and back to the truck. Start with 6 and end up with 4. Going to be an adventure David. Be safe everyone.
  11. That's a good question. Do all clubs groomers have the trackers. I noticed that it doesn't show being groomed in some areas but areas on both ends of the trail are. I guess word of mouth is best.
  12. We, as in my son and I stay at the Econo lodge in Montmany. Never had a problem. Stay one night you get free truck parking for 3 nights. Nice ride to RDL on 35, 55 or 5. Trails are good and fast and scenic. Be safe and enjoy.
  13. Everyone that has responded is spot on. They have all did the routes they are talking about. The northern routes are the quickest and 200 hundred mile days are very do able. I feel the further south the trails do get a little slower so the 200 mile days can be harder to do. I do recommend the LSJ area. Beautiful trails and lots of snow. All the hotels mentioned are great. Good food and super rooms. We always think if it takes 4 days to get somewhere it might take 5 days to get back. Don't know what you all ride but some gas stations sell manufacturers oil. Better to take a quart home then run out. Mid February is a great time to go. Have fun and enjoy every day. You are in for a great adventure. Main thing is be safe.
  14. I would check your credit card account to see if was charged. Then go to the club you support to see if they got credited for pass. They are going to tell you as in the federation to call your club. I did email them about a matter and they got back to me very quickly.
  15. I don't think so. We always park in a major motel or hotel. They all have cameras I assume. We still cable our sleds together at night and leave our truck where it can be seen. We do stay In larger cities with a police department. We also don't worry about it because that would wreck our trip. Lol
  16. I was wondering if the trails are ready yet coming out of Mont Laurie and if anyone has riden the 33 13 83 trails yet.
  17. Has anyone came out of Mont Laurier on 63. I would like to get to Parent area. I would go 63 to 53 to 33 to 13 to 83. I want to go to Barrage Gouin outpost. Anyone think it is possible.
  18. David just told me the sled den guys said the whole area up there is shut down. Stay safe.
  19. Good choice groomer. I don't think the snow is going to melt anytime soon.
  20. Jack and Sandy. Another option we have done is go up the road to Montmagny and there is a Econo lodge there that we have enjoyed. I believe it was we stayed there one night and left the next day. We got 3 days free for parking of the truck. Then it was like 10 dollars a day after. We had no problems with the truck being parked there. The trail 5 is across the street from the Hotel in front of the Ski Doo dealer. The rooms were good and they always put us on the ground floor with a access door to the outside. Only another option. Be safe. Oh yea a easy ride to RDL. Green trail south to trail 35 or 55. Both great rides.
  21. I see you are are riding a new 1200. My oldest son has a newer 1200 and he loves it. David and I got new 850 renegade and I can't wait for Quebec ride to come. We did make it up to Harrisville area last week. Got a little feeling of what to expect. They are pretty quick for the trail we were on. I don't remember what our 800's were like but the 850 is fun to ride. Keep in touch if you go to the western part. We ride there also.
  22. Oh yes. I remember. Are you guys going up this year? We are going to the lac st Jean area first and then i don't know where. We have been up on the Gaspe pennsula last couple years and it is great. I could go there every year. And yes it's cold in Clayton. River is freezing. Things are good here.
