Thank you very much boys for your good words. Krikri is slowly getting better and this last ride boost up her moral so we will be able to repeat this next  weekend and with the last snowstorm we will be able to start from the backdoor and ride directly from home. Life is good!

Such a horrible waste. Its' so important for every rider to be a positive advocate for awareness & prevention. "Keeping Right" in more ways than one. Maybe then each life lost can have more meaning, and truly rest in peace.

    Right on David!
My right ski stays at the right edge period!  I always imagine a solid yellow line down the middle of every trail.  My left ski should never cross that yellow line.  Ever!  Keep your hands on the handlebars.  Stop with trying to signal that someone is behind you.  I don't care who's behind you.  I want you to stay on your right edge and your side of the yellow line & maintain complete control over your snowmobile.  Giving me hand signals only decreases the control you have of your sled.   I always assume someone is coming at me around every turn or every blind hill.  That's why I stay at the right edge so I know that I'm prepared for that careless idiot coming at me!
Most, but certainly not all, of these fatalities are related to alcohol consumption, night time riding, water crossings (drownings) & excessive speed (lack of control) or any combination of the above.
It is so sad to lose anyone.  Entire families are devastated & affected forever. Snowmobiling is a great passion we all enjoy.  These accidents & fatalities can only enable politicians & legislators to write & enact more restrictive laws & regulations against our sport.
Education is the key!   Many snowmobilers out there haven't even heard the basic things I'm speaking about above.  That's a shame.  Most would gladly change and adapt their riding techniques to safer standards if they were educated about them.  A new pamphlet needs to be written & distributed ASAP.
Who's available to help write it?
    Stay safe & stay right,
    Tom

Yeah...  i was bummed to hear this.  The last communication i had from them was that they were coming to the La Glaciere where there is secure sled and trailer parking.  The hotel where the sled was stolen is right in the main part of town...right off of hwy 131.  On the way home on sunday...I saw a another truck and trailer park there and wondered if the hotel management would warn them of the incident the day before...hmmm???  My wife and I stayed at the Montagne Coupee earlier this year and they have a nice setup for your sled.  They will also let you park trailer in there if there is room.  Only downfall is the garage is a little hike down the hill from main hotel...also a little bit of asphalt riding to get to main trail, which can be an issue in spring weather.  On a bright side....me and my daughter had an amazing time riding the trails this past weekend after her deployment.  From the desert sands to the frozen lands....she was all smiles !!!

    Or your a midget.😂
I have actually ridden with a guy 5ft tall that it really didn't make a difference if he was sitting or standing.
really the only time in my life I felt jealous of someone so short and my height was a negative.  He required no effort to go from sitting to standing as he was always 90 percent there before he turned the key.

This is why I have a satellite activated detonation device on my sled.  If I find out its stolen they get a big surprise, and if you look up in the air you may see the halo where they are at...
Hearing stuff like this makes my blood boil...  When is Canada going get a handle on this its been going on for decades?

I think we are spoiled. We hit 30 miles of really bad trail last week, and my knees cried loud enough to keep me up half the night. 30 years ago we used to ride that stuff all day on an old indy and think it was fun. Or just old?

I have a family person who works for a Yamaha dealer and according to him last fall Yamaha told them last fall early this was going to happen.  I think they even gave them a chance to cancel their orders. At least I seen no new snowmobile boxes there this year. They still have outboard motors and atv"s in their yard . Kinda scary with Artic Cat  being bought out by a company that almost ended Polaris years ago and Yamaha going. Only two sled builders look out for the price to go out of site.  This is my opinion.

Glad all turned out well considering. More remote places it could have happened....or more high traffic areas like around Quebec City so at least it happened where it did. They seemed more than happy to get you back on the road!

Maybe staying at Meekos or somewhere north of town next time is an option. Less civilization....but likely also less beat up trails. Enough said.

Great to see you RR as well as 603 Backcrounty.  Yesterday we had a great ride.  Went to Onatchiway for lunch and then took 484 which has been rerouted in parts.  Then took 482 to 367.  Stopped at the Tin Hortons in St Ambroise.  Trails were great.  Came upon this guy and helped him get out.  The snow was chest high.  After helping him, he never said thank you.  When we went into Onatchiway he was there with his girl friend/wife.  Still never came and thanked us for getting him out.  Flatlanders LOL.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the clubs and the Auberge le Cabanon for the awesome 3 days we had riding the area trails.  Awesome job.  Weather was perfect with a little snow every day.  Here's a few pics.

The mountain was in very good condition this week.  everything beyond 10 miles of Mont-Laurier was groomed condition.  I arrived on Wednesday and departed this morning, canceling my last night and headed down to Tug Hill area to find some snow and grooming.  13 and 63, and around town was the worst I have ever seen it in 20 years of coming to the area.  If you want to ride the Diablo, stay in the village or somewhere else more than 10 miles from town.

Rode from Mont Laurier on #13 and #63 and trails were garbage. Absolutely worst washboard trails I have ever seen. Didn't seem like any grooming had been done at all in days. True up near Mekos, Devil Mountain, Chutes were very good....but getting there via #13 or #63 was brutal. No reason to stay in Laurier in my opinion....trails too beat down and nobody trying to groom them up. We have ridden since Wednesday and did not see a single groomer or signs of grooming this section since we arrived. It is clear the free weekend trashed the section of trail mentioned and no efforts have been made to clean them up.

Awesome pictures and trail report! I always look forward to your reports as I often ride that area you travel. We usually depart from St Jean De Matha and head north hitting Bazinette....Masse....etc....
