Well, we had a great Super bowl meeting at Barrage Gouin with Trailblazer, 603 Backcountry and Yours truly. Many of the White road crew were in attendance. Today we separated, TB headed south limping home on a bad track. While RR and 603 headed north. The Backcountry single track ride to sawmill 54 was an awesome 80 mile ride on single track non groomed riding . Than we rode groomed trail from the sawmill54 to Lebel sur quevillion. a nice 330 mile ride of ...off and ...on trail going. Which , after all, .. is what 603 and I love the most. A great combo day of riding.
lots of snow in northwestern Quebec and the trails were to perfection!
gotta love it

Hey RoadRunner, Trailblazer
Keep that tab open for us , we'll be by there soon !
Looks like you took the ice road from Realis 22 to Gouin ...
Yes, Dooright, we call it the Gouin Expressway ,...... only use when you absolutely want to be there before the kickoff😁🍻

Thanks I have heard of very few 850 failures.
I see you are riding a 154 that seems to have a fairly large paddle track, I know you spend a lot of time off trail thought I know you do trail ride some. Any issues with burning hyrax or overheating? I have been thinking 850 BCX with a 1.6, seeing you ride that Freestyle I guess the BCX should handle the same type of service effortlessly. Yes I am headed back to the 2 smoke side of life.
Thanks
Phil, Regarding the hi fax wear, we all put on the DuPont hi fax, they extend the hi fax life greatly. RR

Phil, I took the 2.5 track off, that came on the Freeride and run. 2.0, it’s kind of hard to find that perfect combo for my riding off ...and on trail style, so this comes close. I run 2 sets of scratchers when needed, but otherwise find this to be a good compromise.
We all talk how the 850 BCX with the 1.6 is very close to the perfect mix!

Hi RR if it was discussed I missed it, what was the issue with 603's 850, if I may.
Thanks
Phil, he lost a crankshaft bearing, from what we understand, this was an issue with a few 2017 .. 850’s. All warrantee, but made for. Frustrating trip.

Yes, Bernierres is open as of last week, still looks like construction going on but Denis who drives the shuttle said they opened last week. 603 back country and I rode from Rockwood Maine to St Raymond. Conditions in the Chaudieres would be called excellent! A little choppy on the north side of the river to St Raymond. High sled counts today despite the Cold weather. On to the Gouin tomorrow to meet up with Trail blazer for the super bowl and some "fish" for dinner.

Have a great ride and keep us posted. RR

Do you recommend hotel reservations? Our group will need 4 rooms each night.
Gramps, you should be fine, but still not a bad idea when doing a couples ride to make reservations, particularly on weekends. Landing in to town on a late afternoon, and no rooms, tends to make for lively conversations with the better half that evening when you do finally find a place to stay😉
You will enjoy that trip

Pullin front, yes the Gang had a couples run to RDL, so the Expedition with a two up seat was to Irresistible for one couple to pass up lol.
They loved it, rode like a big Caddy😁
Looking forward to our trip out west next week with Ed W. Itching to get back north of the border, although the back country riding here in Maine has been good!
hope to see you on the trails

Great feed back Viper, and history lessons have a great trip!

Great report pullin, for those of us residing close to the Quebec border here in Maine, the Chaudierres give us a great way to access the wonders of the FCMQ trail system without hours of trailer travel. Thanks for the update
Happy trails RR

We have a great group of members that have a passion for snowmobiling. We all have differing riding styles, ride different sleds and like to ride in different areas and stay at all types of accommodations from tents to 5 star hotels. I hope we continue to keep this forum a “no spin zone” and information will continue to flow friendly and freely. Many of the members have decades of riding experience, its nice to be able to have that data base of knowledge accessible.
Happy Trails

We rode the lake last week and it was not staked. The last few times we did ride it, it was staked, maybe just to early?
That’s great to hear. Was curious if it was used as an alternate to 83👍

Thanks for the update, that's what i suspected. We'll be heading east toward Massif Du Sud and St Pamphile / Daquaam area.
That’s the best area for the conditions, you will be fine👍

Last time No-Hair and I went there it was a goat path to the lake and little to no markings, kinda pulling it out of memory on how to get to it. The trail comes down into a house\camp\cottage's yard, then onto the lake and turn left.
Be Careful!
GutZ
As Gutz says, It is not groomed, but should be broken open, so just follow the tracks in and onto the lake. It’s one of those things, you will know it when you see it. Approx 2 miles into lake Canot, and 1/2 mile down the lake
Enjoy

Heading up this week and wondering if they have the trails in good shape.
Appreciate any info!
As you have read they got hammered with rain last Friday. The water levels have receded and re frozen the small brooks and streams. Groooming in many areas has restarted, the Thetford Mines area trails are reopened and east towards Beauceville and St Marie. I suspect all areas east of Thetford will be open by the weekend. The larger rivers are still open
You should be fine, depending on where you wanted to ride from Thetford mines?

Looks like we are in the same neighborhood, over at the Amosphere tonight, having a new track replaced after some delamination action going on today. All fixed in the am we hope. The rest of RR crew went north to Matagami, swinging back by for the mid day.
have a great ride boys
