Coming out of Amqui early this AM. We came in 5 from Rimouski yesterday. Heading out to see the mummy’s and up over the beautiful windmill trail.
 
When We get to the split of 579 / 587 is one way or the other more scenic/ better trail ? I’m routing and would like the best scenery.

Nice…well that’s a huge help ! How far is the run up that off 587 once you turn up the trail Andy ? Looks like 2ish miles.

Great info !
We went RDL to Squatec to Amqui a few years back. Leading into Amqui there was a trail that was steep in spots…real pretty…higher elevation..windmills..then lead down into Amqui. What trail was that ? I think we headed across 35 in that direction.

Good info. Checked with Andy and he said it’s better than the reporting suggests.
We are there by noon Tuesday and will see !

The ‘must see’ list for me includes many of the snowmobile club clubs trail side where they have a place to stop and take in the local feel. So sometimes food, sometimes drink, sometimes a fireplace or wood stove…every one different. It is what we love when you are riding the best trails and nature around in between them.
 
Some are really nice, some simple with folding tables and chairs…some couches, some have a bar with stools, some are along roads and the public drive there too…some remote…but all different. Many have great trail food, some local foods, sandwiches, soups, poutine, sweets, a cold beer or hot coffee. Generally surprisingly good. People running them are nice. Always a treat for us to experience (and support) them.

Over the years I have seen RDL post good trails by X-Mas a couple times.  Watch for grooming reports and the club reports of the area that report trails by red, yellow and green.
The new bar looks nice, loved the coziness of the old bar for sure..  Looking at the picture, the new bar almost looks like its at the room where the buffet used to be, but not sure.
Hopefully Mark, you will be retired next year and will be at RDL more often.

Id love to this year but years past had to head to Valin…..maybe this year will be different !

The strains continue to weaken but I’m afraid that may not stop them from putting controls on. It’s not about anything health related for them. 😞
