  1. Plan a different trip altogether, that will not be good on the weekend
  2. looks like a great start to the season Alain, hope to be at LeCabanon from Jan. 6th-12th with mother natures help
  3. Talk to Denis when you arrive at LeCabanon, he will tell you all you need to know
  4. I have a feeling with Balbuzard closed this winter, they won't take the trail right past their door
  5. That looks awesome RoadRunner, after doing our motorcycle trip to Labrador a couple years ago and seeing just how remote it is I have even more respect for anyone that attempts this race
  6. Wow Iceman, here I thought all you needed to know was s$#t runs downhill and payday is Friday!
  7. You can find the post in question in the regional forum under the Sag/ Lac St. Jean back around the first week of February.
  8. The conditions there look good, so it seems you are looking to stay at the same place every night. Possibly some of the guys that ride there exclusively can weigh in but I am thinking there are not many rental places up that way. About the only thing that comes to my mind is Passion up by Valinouet. There is a place in Chambord called Chalets & Spa near Chambord that rents cabins
  9. Looks good Alain, hopefully the warm weather doesn't include rain or a lot of sun
  10. Historically the Indians were responsible for that section of trail though they rarely took care of it
  11. My Dad saw a Lynx last week near Kanawata and was told by someone it is their breeding season
  12. RoweBoat, my Dad and 3 other guys are at LeCabanon now. They arrived Sunday and rode around the area Monday then left Tuesday morning and headed North to Barrage Gouin to avoid the rain as much as possible. When they left Tuesday morning there was over a 1/4” of ice buildup on the sleds. They returned yesterday and the trails were freezing up way earlier than expected and they did have some minor overheating issues as none of them had scratchers. Today they only rode about 100 miles down to Koubek and around the bottom to St. Zenon. Trails are really good and no overheating issues. Typical areas that are bad after a warm up like intersections, road crossings and anyplace where the cars and sleds share the road. Some snow in the forecast for Friday will help with lubrication and cooling
  13. Western Quebec will be impacted even less than the Gaspe.
  14. Idk, my Dad always taught me to wear the old stuff out first
  15. What kind of job do you have that you can be on QR at work 😂
  16. But enough about that, you are really getting us going with that trip report, as has been said before West is best! Not making a trip to the great white North anytime soon but got the sleds loaded up and heading up to Norrhwest PA tomorrow to our cabin gonna get some riding in before the warm up. This will be my kids first trail ride on the ‘79 Enticer 300 Twin, don’t be silly you know he’s gonna send it!
  17. 😂😂😂 I actually have seen that YouTube video before. That’s my kid for sure, just turned 9 in November and has been playing U11 soccer for 2 seasons already. His coach laughs because he flies into a group of kids a foot taller and comes out the other side with the ball
  18. Dominic is the man, we rolled in there one year dragging a Vector with a broken drive shaft and he said “no problem” I will take you to Mont Laurier tomorrow. Next thing we go to leave the restaurant and head up to the schoolhouse and my wife’s sled had the chain case locked up. Uh-oh 2 sleds down, still no problem he loads the 2 sleds up 1 on truck 1 on old army trailer and takes the sleds and the girls to Mont Laurier the next morning while we make a run to the trucks. He didn’t even want to take any money because he had to make a store run (and to see his wife) but we took care of him
  19. Lol on The Honeybadger, that is my kids nickname from his soccer coach lol. Love that section of 93 between Amos and Seneterre and even the local to the north with the nice rollers. It always amazes me that people can’t figure out the first thing to do when stuck is pack the snow. You guys are are having an awesome trip. By the way, I hope you talked to the management at Hotel Eskers about sponsoring the page
  20. Sounds like someone gets their feathers ruffled easily, I assure you I could post way more pics of any other brand burning down than you could of Yamaha"s.I thought my comment was in good fun and in no way malicious, it seems you never have a problem posting anytime a Yamaha won't start in the corral in the morning but can't take a good natured ribbing of from someone else. Sad to see the direction this site is headed, seems to be getting a little cliquey here and if someone doesn't stay at an approved hotel or ride the preferred sled of the almighty they are worthless. Maybe it's time to trim the herd and change the name from Quebecrider to Saguenay and Ski-Doo rider. Dilly Dilly!
  21. Do the Ski-Doo’s come standard with a fire extinguisher?
  22. Mike, I saw a wolf in New Brunswick a few years ago but never in the BSL or Gaspe. I did see a coyote on our last trip near Carlton. The real question is, did the hair on the back of your neck stand up? If the answer is yes then it was a wolf if not it was a coyote
