Spotted “Towing’s” ride here at Marineau. Tried to locate him last night after dinner but really was in not much shape to try to locate anyone or anything.
Received more bad news. It seems I will be leaving Thursday afternoon for Matane with the Boss. Alain says a quick short run. Not the typical Ice Tour of Gaspe, but any riding beats none. Thursday night Matane, Friday night New Richmond, Sarurday night St Anne Des Monts, back to Matane and truck Sunday to drive home.
That's the best time, lol

Trail riding with Freerides that have 2.5 or 2 inch lugs sounds crazy to me. No doubt your blowing lugs.

The time is here, Bucky, Mike and I decide we are going to leave Ottawa Wednesday night for Mont Laurier, ride Thursday to Saint Michel, take in the entertainment at Le Central, ride back Friday and drive back home to Ottawa Friday night. Plan is simple... but this is sledding... Wednesday night over some go go juice we decide a 400 km plus run to Saint Michel is in order. The plan, take the 13 out of Mont Laurier to the 319 to Mekos, onto the 53, then the 33 to Manawan, Lac Taureau and into Saint Michel. Early start, 8 am, no breakfast, room coffee only...
On the 13/319
Mekos
The 33 after Manawan
Right about here we start to run into problems. The Apex just had a new stator put in and it started to act up again. We run fast and hard to get to Saint Michel for the night before the battery is dead.
Well we make and go for dinner at the Steak house to figure what the plan of attack is for tomorrow. We put the Apex on a trickle charge that we borrowed from the hotel. Decide to take a short nap before going to the bar... well game over, after not riding for a year and doing 430 km my body is so sore. I was out for the night.
Friday morning is here... no skipping breakfast and we are all fresh as Daisy's. The plan is to disconnect all the electronics on the Apex. Bucky is going old school, no lights, no hand warmers and no heated shield. Not taking chances we take the short ride home in the park, 33 to the 63 to Mont Laurier. Turns out the sled is running good and seems to be keeping it together so as we get closer to Mont Laurier we decide to make a few loops to make the best of the day. We take the 53, 224 and then the 230 back to Mont Laurier. Ended up being over 300 km. All trails were fantastic.

I personally stay away from Mont Valin on the weekends. Too busy. But a great place to off trail, as long as off trail is not next to the trail. Plenty of power lines to ride. See you Sat morning. Going back to NH Friday morning, back Friday evening.
Don't they call that a "Turn and Burn" ?? lol

Hello I am trying to figure out different areas and how to get trail Conditions for a certain area, I just got off the phone with the Comfort inn and booked rooms for mid February she said all trails are closed in that area, and I would like to find how to check trail conditions before we leave.
We might have to reschedule part of our trip if the snow is low in that area
Thanks Greg
A friend of mine was just there yesterday. He said trails are groomed and in good shape. They are low on snow but this will only improve over the next week.

Environment Canada and other weather media (metio media, weather network) are reluctant in giving this info because their success rate in predicting the weather is less than 50%.
Now imagine if you preformed less than 50% at your work... would you still have a job? Lol

Speaking of Sidewinders. Had 2 guys in the Delta Monday night. Both of these fellows had the same problem. There is a small rubber hose that runs from engine to heat exchanger. Ice breaking away from the heat exchanger cut a hole in the rubber hose and one lost coolant. While the one sled was getting fixed the other guy looked at his and saw a drip drip drip. Looked at coolant bottle and it was empty. Took the dealer 3 hours to replace the hose. That was a total of 6 hours, each sled 3 hours. Buy a rubber hammer and knock the ice out at every stop and hope that will get you by.
That must be the Artic Cat part of the sled. 😜

It's not the first time I hear of dealers pulling parts from their showroom sleds in Quebec. Impressive. I think you would have a hard time finding a dealer to do that in Ontario.

Thats awesome! We are all here to have fun!!
Thanks thats my point exactly from the start, to each their own just be safe about it.
Oh wait that may have been another stupid comment eh Foz...
That was not your point and the reason I said it was a stupid comment is what I put in Bold in your statement.
You are making comments that are stereotyping which is why I called it stupid.
Enough said on that.
Season is approaching the end and I am looking forward to my ride in Mont Valin in April.

Trying to stand up riding on a Venture or Vector would be like standing up to take a shit, it just doesn't work and you look awful odd doing it. Those who have these type of machines or are overweight (or both) will have trouble to understand why/how people ever stand up longer than to look both ways...
You can't be for real.... this is the 2nd thread now where you are showing your stupidity.

This is why I have a satellite activated detonation device on my sled. If I find out its stolen they get a big surprise, and if you look up in the air you may see the halo where they are at...
Hearing stuff like this makes my blood boil... When is Canada going get a handle on this its been going on for decades?
Friggen Canada!! I can't believe it only happens in Canada.
Holly shit are you stupid.

Was it ice that my have come loose in the tunnel?
Happened to me once, I could swear I thought I broke something. I search the sled up and down and couldn't figure out what was going on. Put it reverse, it came out and noise was gone. Sounds to simple, but when you can't see it, it boggles the mind.

I saw him riding solo in the late 90's but never got to speak to him. Truly a legend in the Snowmobile world.....RIP Ken
This reminds me of a woman I met at Relais 22 a few years ago who was on tour by herself with a little dog zipped inside her coat.
Are you sure it wasn't her cat, aka *****
RIP Yellow Boots.

" Thank you little baby Jesus." That there is the post of the year! Lol
Also I see Bill 101 doesn't seem to have an affect up in the Cree Region.

I'm surprised to hear some Relais only having 87. The norm used to be they only carried 91.

Only in Quebec do we hear of men having these problems.

I had a round of golf there a few years back. Never even thought of sledding around there and always just seem to pass by it in the truck to go more north.
Will be a nice ride for me from Ottawa.

Good to know.
Dail back the turbo to 5lbs of boost.... Check.

Bringing the batterie in with you at night is a good idea. Unless you have a sled like Iceman and Florida Snowman, you will be performing an abortion in the parking lot just to get thing out.
I recommend at least one person in the group to have a small set of cables with them.
With regards to clothing, undies for each day, only one extra pair of socks needed.

Leaving from Ottawa in a couple of hours. Lunch at the famous pub first just around the corner from the OnCenter and then to the show.
From here on in, it's all sled talk till May!

A snowmobe trail through Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal etc.. Hummmm. I don't think so..
You are right.
The TCT already exsists in Ottawa and is part of the snowmobile trail system, it starts right the at end of my street in Stittsville (West Ottawa). You cannot travel east and pass through the city and there is tension by the growing community to close it where I live. The Stittsville community used to be sled friendly where you could take your sled to the Grocery store if you wanted. This no longer exists.
Yamaha Mountain Skis

They came off a Yamaha Nytro XTX. Wide ski with great floatation. Snow tracker carbides are in great shape. Skis come with the rubber stopper, collars, washers and bolts (the price on those alone from Yamaha is $220.00).
Great ski for your crossover sled.
