I heard a rumor that the accommodations were going to be shut down this winter though. Just selling gas and food.
It's not a rumor...it is the truth. No lodging at the Pavillon la vérendrye. Only gas and food.

Is this still true?
A lot of Americans are in the habit of just getting day and week passes at the Hotels when they show up. I did this for years when I worked for a living, and had no free time.
online only

Is mount Laurier makeable from valdor in 1 day ????
it's doable but it's a long ride. Near 280 miles. We did Val d'Or-Maniwaki a few times. Also the restaurant at Le Domaine is closed since october 25th. Only gas(for now) will be available.
Le Domaine will be completely rebuilt in the short term. -
Great news......when the loggers are nowhere to be found......TQ 63 in the RFRM is a blast.

Congratulations on the new ownership. That's what I heard last week that Steve sold his place. He was a great guy to chat with. We stop at your place 4-5 times during the season when riding locally and on our way to Parent. We are riding alot in the Upper Gatineau and Upper Laurentians. Best of luck!!

Parked in Roberval...leaving for chibougamau today. Trying to avoid as much as possible this storm. That's why we changed our itinary. No more st-raymond. We rode on hard trails for the past 4 days. Great conditions and gas consumption at its best.

If anyone has a definitive answer on this, please post. Also if there is gas available at Pensive (I believe that's the name of the place)
Thanks!
give a call to restaurant le classic (819) 438-5557 and ask for Peter. He is the new owner and he owns the Pensive as well. He probably knows what's going on with the logging on Lépine Road. I haven't heard of anything regarding "le sentier des Draveurs". It was such an incredible trail to ride.

Cant help with cancel policy. Place is awesome, you want to make dinner reservations ahead of time though. Place gets crowded from locals especially on weekends. Can do dinner reservations on internet also.

Aux View Moulin in right behind Central. Rooms are crap but you can rent Condos they have right beside the restaurant at a reasonable price. Restaurant is good and you can walk to central as well.
450 833 6656 way nicer than Central
You are talking about the central in st-michel des saints. Parent has its hotel central as well.

Apparently the Continental has been renovated. I haven't stayed there in years, but I remember it being on the economical side (which wasn't a bad thing!). Sled accessibility was ok at the time, and according to the FCMQ map, you still access it by the alleyway running out back.
We always stay at the continental...yes it has been renovated and some really nice rooms plus the owner is a snowmobiler. A little bit pain in the ass to get there for first timer but once you know how to get there, very easy and well signed. You must take the little street behind brp dealer(Beric) coming in from louvicourt.

I read that there is a problem with the #63 between rouge-Mattawin and Rivière rouge in the section near La Macaza(north west mont-tremblant park). I'm not sure what is the bug or if it has been solve but search for it before going. It's Franc nord snowmobile club that groom this section, maybe them can answer.
Have a good safe ride!
Alain
Alain, I phoned the club directly and yes they had problems with rights of way in La Macaza but it has been resolved and it is opened. They sent the groomer towards SMDS.
Place to stay around 386 and 63

One good news(If I can say). Val d'Or SC will reopen that 9-10 km stretch which is the original route of TQ 63.
