Après 57 ans d’existence, le Club aura cet hiver pour la première fois de son histoire, son propre garage. Après toutes ces années à travailler à gauche, à droite et surtout dans le banc de neige 😊 Les bénévoles, les surfaceuses et les équipements du Club auront enfin, un toit sur la tête.
Ce beau projet se réalise grâce à l’implication de plusieurs partenaires et collaborateurs.
After 57 years of existence, the Club will have its own garage this winter for the first time in its history. After all these years working left, right and especially in the snow bank 😊 The Club's volunteers, resurfacers and equipment will finally have a roof over their heads.
This beautiful project is being realized thanks to the involvement of several partners and collaborators.

The first applicant of the day explains that his last day was not a good one.
 
"I came home early and found my wife lying naked in bed. She claimed she had just got out of the shower.  Well, her hair was dry and I checked the shower and it was completely dry too. I knew she was into some hanky-panky and I began to look for her lover. I went onto the balcony of our 9th-floor apartment and found the guy clinging to the rail by his fingertips. I was so angry that I began bashing his fingers with a flower pot. He let go and fell, but his fall was broken by some awnings and bushes. On seeing he was still alive I found super human strength to drag our antique cedar chest to the balcony and throw it over. It hit the man and killed him.  At this point the stress got to me and I suffered a massive heart attack and died.”
 
Saint Peter thanked him for his story and sent him on to the waiting room.
 
The second applicant said that his last day was his worst.
 
"I was on the roof of an apartment building working on the AC equipment and I stumbled over my tools and toppled off the building. I managed to grab onto the balcony rail of a 9th-floor apartment but some idiot came rushing out on the balcony and bashed my hands with a flower pot. I fell but hit some awnings and bushes and survived, but as I looked up I saw a huge chest falling toward me. I tried to crawl out of the way but failed and was hit and killed by the chest.”
 
Saint Peter couldn't help but chuckle as he directs the man to the waiting room. Saint Peter is still chuckling when his third customer of the day enters.
 
He apologizes and says "I doubt that your last day was as interesting as the two fellows that arrived here just before you.”
 
“I don't know," replies the man. "Picture this, I'm naked, hiding in this cedar chest...”

No door going into the "room"...   all one big happy family...  Way to go trudeau.

Playing around on the interactive map today planning some trips and discovered there is a new motel at St Adelme right behind the church and clubhouse. Brand new construction and the reservation link is taking winter bookings.
Great to see a new option in the Gaspe as seem to be losing some of the old regular options.
Will give another option to the Matane area and should be better snow conditions for early and late season lodging vs the shoreline in Matane.
Reasonable rates also at $130.00 a night CAD.
Does anyone know if the clubhouse is open 7 days a week and how late in the evening. Have stopped in there to eat but usually for lunch.

Dear parents,
This message is addressed to all parents of students in the 5th grade 311 group and the 6th grade 322 group.
The 311 group teacher is Mrs. Jessica Paré and the 322 group teacher is Mrs. Cristina Giguère. These two teachers have been given one day off per cycle, so that on these days, the students will be taught by Mx Martine Laviolette.
Mx is pronounced "Mix" and is the gender-neutral equivalent of "madame" and "monsieur", and is used to designate non-binary people (whose gender identity lies outside the male/female binary system) and people who simply prefer not to be addressed by their gender. It has been used for several years in many countries, and is recognized by the Canadian government.
On back-to-school day, I'll explain to your child that Mx will be the preferred title when addressing Mx Martine. We'll have a discussion about openness, differences, gender designations and so on. Mx Martine invites us to use the feminine to talk about her (the non-gendered pronoun "iel" is sometimes difficult to use because of the constraints of the French language). It will be her pleasure to guide us through this learning process in a respectful and inclusive way.

Subject: Renovations to sanitary blocks
Dear parents.
As you can see, major renovations are underway at D'Iberville school. The sanitary blocks on all three floors will be completely redone.
Today, we'd like to inform you of the new features associated with these renovations. Like many other schools in Quebec, our washrooms will become co-ed (school year 2024-
2025). On each floor, what used to be the girls' and boys' toilet blocks will become a single mixed-use toilet block. These mixed sanitary blocks will feature fully enclosed cubicles. In addition, a window will be installed to ensure smooth operation.
From the start of the school year, half of each sanitary block will be available. Temporary cabins (5 to 7 per floor) will be installed, and work will be underway on the other half. When the closed half is ready and renovated, the contractor will open this part and students will have access to this part of the new sanitary block, while the other part is being renovated. During the construction period, the blocks will be single-sex. Girls will be able to use the toilets on the [° and 3° floors, and boys will be able to use the toilets on the 2° floor.
When the work is completely finished, there will be a separation in the center of the washroom blocks, so that we can end the year with gendered washrooms and start with new habits for the 2024-2025 school year, i.e. coeducational washrooms.
What's more, all construction areas will be secure and will not interfere with your child's education. The work will be underway at the start of the school year and will be completed during the school year.
We realize that this will mean big changes for all of you, but we're confident that it's for the best. You can also rest assured that we'll do our utmost to ensure a smooth and pleasant transition for our students.
