Albieridin
83 out of roberval east, pickup the 3 east to tadousac ferry to forestville. there are some green trails out there also depending on your time frame.you could also do the 93 east north of saguenay river
SkippyDoo
I would take 93 and the pelchat trail towards Les Escoumins. Trail is signed 'pelchat'. Its the orange trail on the fcmq map that goes to escoumins. Thats just me though
zrtkat
do you think it would be better for us to stage out of Saguenay 1st day Saguenay to Forestville would that be a better option for us ????? Thanks for all the replies zrtkat
Byrd
That is a good way to go. You can also take 93 all the way down to 3 there's a shortcut on 3 it cuts off the long ride down to les escouins
Byrd
I would definitely stage out of Saguenay

viper2
Zrtkat, I see you are coming from Ohio. How many days do you plan to spend on the trails? There are plenty of options for starting out that will get you more trail time and less truck time. Maybe start in Shawinigan or St. Ray. Take a day to get to the Saguenay then the next day ride to Forestel. If your planning on shuttling back to Quebec City at the end you really will make that time up anyway on the return

I was just thinking if you are crossing back at Quebec City your ride to the truck in St. Ray would be kinda on your way home
zrtkat
Viper2 I am still open for suggestions for a place to start closer and 1 day ride to Forestville ,the closer the better less travel time in truck, last year we did a loop we started in Temiscaming and did a big loop this year we want to experience the Gaspe. When you do not know the area it is hard to plan everything so any suggestions is greatly a[ppreciated Zrtkat

Driving to Jonquiere and taking the route Skippy Doo suggested is a good option just keep in mind when you are on that Orange (Pelchat) trail you are far from civilization. Not sure it is the best for Day 1 of a trip when everyone and their gear and sleds are getting settled in. Also if you have the trail maps downloaded on your GPS that will be a big help so you are sure you are on the right path. The other 2 places would be either Baie St. Paul or LeMalbaie the latter is where the casino is and is a little closer to Forestville

Thanks Zrtkat We have parked at the Hotel Baie St. Paul a few times, they dont have a gated lot but we usually take precautions and lock things up and have never had an issue there. Never drove to LeMalbaie in the truck so not sure which place is best there for trucks and trailers
