  3. I would suggest Thetford Mines or St. George . Not to far from Levi, but better options for day trips in my opinion.
  4. Bill, Bob, Bill and I will be at the Delta next Sunday night, Feb 11th. Hope to see you. Joel
  5. Some dealers close for lunch. Use the BRP gas can for oil.
  6. We met Ken taking the ferry from Matane to godbout. We got to spend some time with him on the boat ride. He spoke of his hand made moccasins that he wore under the " yellow boots". RIP " Yellow Boots"
  7. We made it to St George from pittsburg nh.
  8. We will take 3 days to get to Saturday and yes we are transporting across the st Lawrence.
  9. We cross at the Pittsburg/Chartierville crossing whenever possible. Sometimes we day trip in the region. I join the LaPatrie club to support this region. Leaving Thursday from Pittsburg headed to Saguenay region by sled. Our scouting reports indicate it will be fine. Eastern Townships do get less snow, but have great trails when mother nature cooperates.
  10. I am a collette communicator user. It is the only brand I am familiar with. I have used them since 1989. We Newfound Snowworks were the exclusive dealer for New England for a couple years 1989. The quality is good and they do work. It is not like talking on your cell phone in your automobile, but it is good. We have always had our own code, limiting communication to one or two signal words."Incoming", meaning sleds approaching etc. When you are stopped at an intersection you can all sit on your sleds and talk without removing your helmet. I THINK 2 miles is pushing it but certainly 1 mile is accurate. If you travel in a group and are speed out properly you can relay communications.
  11. I agree scorpionbowl, why would someone trailer from Pa. and leave from Drummondville?
  12. We are in st george. All trails are groomed but needs snow. North and east of lac etchman is good.
  13. Hi Bill. Good place to be. Can you ask around about mpg on the new Ski Doo 1200 please. I am hearing 20 mpg.
  14. Hi Bill, The New Hampshire Rough Riders, with a couple of scraggly sidekicks are going to try to make it too.
  15. Have a great winter Bill. Icy as heck here today.
  16. Hi GT Rider, I am following your report closely as we are planning a similar trip for next week. Thanks for the updates and have a good trip. Joel
  17. CLK1X, I have a 2012 F-1100 turbo sno pro 50th anniversary limited. I had a 2011 renegade 800 X before this sled, 2010 renegade 1200x before that. The very best feature of this sled is the motor. I believe it is so good that you can eventually forget about the other issues, if you desire alot of power. I put about 2100 miles on mine. I am on my second belt, changed it before it let go.Fuel mileage is just a bit less than a 1200 renegade or an apex, 1/2 gallon more on a fill up. My sno pro is very stiff, very stiff seat foam too. I have softened the suspension substantially, it is almost where I want it. Handling is as good as my 800 X and 1200 X was, however the ski doo was almost perfect when I picked it up from the dealer.I had to work a bit to get the 1100 turbo where I wanted it. Be certain to get a softer seat than I have. I cant say anything bad about the air shocks, but I wont say they are great either, I still have not developed a good feel for them. I got by with my reverse, only using it when the chaincase oil was fully warmed up, and being very cautious with the throttle after shifting from reverse to forward. Was it a pain, yes but the motor made me forget. My 800 etec renegade was only at its best when I had high octane fuel in it. I always paid for premium, but I know I did not always get premium. The Turbo is never at a loss for ample power. It too asks for premium, however I could never feel the difference in fuel with this sled. Ergonomics, seating position, wind protection (with the proper windshield) and general comfort are what I feel to be the best on the market right now. My tunnell was replaced as the original heat exchanger made icebergs that the sled could not digest. Cat denies that icebergs were bending tunnells, however I know first hand that is how my tunnell was bent. The old mounting style for the heat exchanger did keep the engine cool. My dealer made a huge difference in how I regard this sled. Without their support I would be unhappy, as other owners report.Do not buy this unless you have an experienced and fully qualified dealer that is not afraid to stock parts for 2013 sleds. Check out the dealers service department, be certain that they are as qualified.
  18. Bill, I wont be able to make it this year, sorry Joel
  19. Ray, Heard you got to meet my coworker. Joel
  20. There was plenty of snow there last week. Trails in that region and eastern townships were great.
  21. I am not a summer person! I can hardly wait for some decent weather, minus 20F is nice.
