That would great great. Not so much for David but riding my snowmobile is part of the reason I don't live in North Carolina. Lol. I like to tell the boys I love the taste of snow dust. Lol. Be safe this weekend.

Well I would like to tell the rest of the story.  From La Tugue  we had to get one of the boys back to the truck by noon for him to go home for work.  Made exactly 12 noon. It was a cold ride and the sun in our face was brutal.  Too cold to go fast anyway. 73 was great all the way. Got busy tho. Started the wheels turning. We weren't going to ride that afternoon so we decided seeing that RDL was only 3 hours away here we go. Called the hotel got rooms and big smiles on the faces.  Next day headed to Matane on a couple green trails and trail 5 and it was great. Next day east on 5 to 595 and headed south to New Richmond.  Trail was again great. Only problem was a wet snow storm that we seem to be in the middle of the last 20 miles. At times I could look west and see blue skies but we were in the snow. Got to New Richmond and headed west to Carleton.  Up early and headed to Rumoski.  West on 5 to the orange trail back to 5. Trails are still great. Up 5 to the bridge where I believe groomer starts his magic and oh my goodness it was perfect. It was the best trail I have ever riden in ever. Up 5 to a local trail over to St Florence and on to groomers club house. Seen Groomer at work only waving because he looked busy. From there green trails back to 5 near Rumoski and a other wonderful day.  The green trails were a little thin on snow but that snowmobiling. Up early and back to RDL and the truck by 10 30. All home by 8 30 and thinking all the way about the next adventure.  Oh yea stopped in Montreal and picked up some saddle bags from Trailblazer.  Nice seeing buddy.
All in all what a great trip and time I had with the boys. They do take care of me and they are the best.
Gaspe is the best in my opinion and only my opinion.  All of Quebec is great.
Anyway be safe everyone and enjoy.

The group of boys I'm with is all family with small children and they do think about their families also they respect what I have to say. Not that they don't have common sense it's they have respect. They also know it would be terrible for me if anything happened to one of them. They are all like my kids.

Andy your post of any accident is appreciated by me and I dare say many more. The trails we ride are the same that was there many Years ago and may it be the sleds do handle and ride better they are more powerful and faster. I think for awareness maybe we should end our posts with please be safe. Might make everyone think before we go on our adventures. Just my opinion.

Roadrunner that  is neat to hear. Frink's seen a alot of business people and truck drivers. Grindstone is a great place. In past years we all come over on the ice with  snowmobiles and spend weekends. I was born and raised on the island. Our family still enjoys our time here. Have a good winter and be safe on the trails.

    Hello riders.
Last year we ordered new 850 renegades. Thinking like our 800's they would come with the short windshields. Me having to get ready ordered 2 Two that is new 17 inch medium windsheilds for the new rides. Well after receiving the new 17 inchers I happen to read the 2018 model comes with 17 inch medium windsheilds. Any way if someone happened to break theirs or needs one from last years model let me know and I will send it your way. I have the side deflectors for both windsheilds. We want these to go to someone in need and not to someone to sell for their personal gain. Of couse I don't want to pay the shipping. They will be free to someone in need. Be safe and enjoy the adventure.

Writing to a politician is a great idea and I would do that. If someone could post names to write to would help the American riders. We have the same problem here in the Adirondacks and this is the reason I love Quebec so much plus the trails are the best. I just don't want to write a letter and have it sit on the wrong desk.
Only my thoughts. Possibly write a letter with all the American Quebec Riders signatures on it. Strength in numbers.

Heard back from Alain. He said the Minister, exact words, that he cut the money for all bridges and other extras for the clubs in Abitibi, but we are fighting it and it does look promising right now. Hopefully they have started to get it under control.

This is such a great topic. I agree the new sleds all get great mileage and is extra gas really needed but if carrying extra gas makes you feel better then I think that person should do this. One other thought is the great stories about traveling the north shore trail number 3. I know it has given me a interest. Now saying that I don't believe if the opportunity to ride that trail came up that I would take it mainly because of my age and getting stuck in 10 foot drifts and possibly sleeping in said snow bank.  I think a lot of people on this web site have riden all or most of the trails in Quebec and the last one is the north shore ride.  Are we by installing the extra tanks just preparing for that ride or a cross country ride or at least if the opportunity came up we would be ready. I have to admit it would be a adventure.  I do have some youngsters who i would feel comfortable trying any trip with. Anyway these are my thoughts and hopefully I didn't offend anyone.  Have a great summer everyone.

I believe the engineers who design the new two stokes would disagree with anyone comparing the two engines. I believe everyone has his or her own preference and if you are happy that's the way you should go with. I do know some people do not have good luck with a 2 stroke engines, Perfect example is my oldest son doesn't have any luck with a 2 stroke and my youngest will only own a 2 stroke.. Especially when his dad says go ahead and buy a 4 stroke but I'm buying a 850, LOL Number two son is very mechanical and number one doesn't ever get his hands dirty. I do know they ride very different. Of course the younger one has worked on worn out sleds in his teens so he and his friends could just get in a little night riding but knowing they may have to do the same thing over again the next day.
As for the new engines they are lubricated where the parts need it and cooled in the places most important. The 850 engine has the bottom of the crank case cooled. Must be a need to cool that area. As for the 4 strokes they are like the old 583 and 600 ski doo motors, bullet proof. I like to think about how lucky we are to have 2 and 4 strokes that you can ride for thousands of miles and know you are going to get back to the truck, My opinions only.
