Make sure the plumber orders enough parts for two!
the stacked cans worked great (4300 miles) although I realize it's not recommended by doo.

Fuse I was sitting here tonight thinking the same thing, can I go back to a 2 stroke? After chasing BJ around all year it sure would be fun to be on equal machinery. This is my set up and BJs he uses a 4 gallon for gas with a 2.75 gal. For oil, I think that what it is, on top and has a bag that fits between gas/oil can for clothes, etc. plus the "picnic basket" on the rear.
I am going to plumb my 4 gallon can into the fuel system for next winter so it empties first getting that weight off the rear end..

My son and I have been riding Ski doo sleds for years. Our last sleds we bought and installed the Linq medium bag and a fuel caddy. For our clothes we use saddle bags by Gears. One of the fuel caddies because of the miles we travel we use for oil and like you said gas mileage of the new sleds a couple gallons is a lot. The saddle bags are held on with two clips and the Linq bag one and the  fuel caddy one.  Keep the oil inside at night and it pours easy. Of course there is two of us using the oil. I've seen quarts of oil break in glove boxes. It's terrible. For windshields they come with the small size. We went through that smaller windshield 3 years ago in Gaspe. 20 below every day. It was bad. We bought the medium size the next year and was very happy with them. I have already bought the 17" windshields for our new 850's. Everyone I have spoken to says the 850 is more than the 800 and I loved my 800. Never had one problem. Only opened the side panel to put oil in. I expect to get 150 miles a tank and have more gas in the tank. At least our 800's were good for that. Hope this helps.

Trails are surprisingly good considering no new snow in a while, starting to snow now and they say more latter this week.If your staying in town, you cannot drive your sled as the sidewalks are bare.Rode to Meekoos today and all the trails were freshly groomed.Rabaska,Devils mountain and windago falls yesterday and trails were mint.Any trails along the road ,which is limited, are bare, but did not have any issues.Trails are hard and icy in places so picks are nice to have.In 400 miles probably haven't seen move than 10 sleds riding in 2 days, yet the hotel parking lots are full of trucks and trailers.

Ah the Gaspe ' showed her beautiful self today !  Cold and sunny with hard packed groomed to perfection trails. We lucked out the groomer reports look good leaving riviere au renard . We split into two groups. One group to the Rock in Perce and one group taking the fresh groomed orange trail towards 597 the new south to Chandler .  I was in the latter and have never taken the orange trail south of the town of Gaspe" or have never run the 5 from Chandler to the west.
Both groups were rewarded well for their choices. The scenery and trails (597and orange) were perfect . So perfect we arrived at the club house in Chandler by 11:30 for lunch . After having a leisurely lunch we headed towards our stop for the night which will be New Richmond. Again the clubs worked their magic even with less snow and a hard base things were smooth all the way in. The trails around Bonaventure were espically nice! Great relais!
We have always taken the trail north to Murdochville and across to La Cache I glad today we went outside our box! 210 miles for the day.

Been riding Gaspe since Monday. Thursday trails were really getting rough, combination 2 days of snow, warm weather, lots of traffic and wasn't much grooming done for couple days.
This morning we left Amqui heading for Mont Joli to complete our loop. Most of the trails were groomed last night. We wanted full day of riding so we did few loops over to Rimouski, 579,587 etc. In summary we did 280 km having an excellent day. Passed a few groomers during the day. They are getting things back into shape. Fields were drifted today but was soft so fun at times. Looking at the weather I would say by Sunday conditions will be very good. Anyone starting out the next few days doing the loop counter clockwise might be the best option

OK I'm not selling my sleds! We left New Richmond on freshly groomed trails on our way to Amqui and the riding was as good as it could possibly get. It was cold, the Sun was shining and the trails were mint. We took a few secondary trails and they were even better if that's possible. Today was the best riding I have done in over two years. The amount of snow up here is staggering. Fresh snow everywhere. Tomorrow we will ride back to RDL. So far in 5 days of riding 4 have been great with only one bad. I'm looking forward to our last leg of our trip tomorrow. The best part is I'm riding my brand new sled and I haven't even opened up a side panel. Just add gas and go!

Are you on your way down. Getting very hard to get rooms on short notice.
2016 1200 Enduro went down on us today. Had to tow 70 km to Murdochville. Called the rescue service from Mont Joli Motel to bring my truck and trailer to pickup sled and 2 of the crew up.Sled is being looked at in Amqui first thing tomorrow morning. Between calls to HB Cycle back home and the Amqui dealer hoping just needs a reprogram. The rest of us carried on our run Murdochville to LaCache back down 595 to land at Francis New Richmond at 7:00 pm.
When the 1200 dyed we tried all the usual disconnect battery, check fuses, swapped relays with another doo, no go.
Wade the "Get her Done" guy in our group  backed his New 800 Polaris up to the Doo, Tied the one ski tight to his back bumper and off we went with me running point for him as he was 6 feet wide pulling the sled offset like that. The poor guy that owns the 1200 rode 2 up with someone else.
When we arrived at Murdochville pulled into the Shell for gas. The sled doing the pulling had about 2L left in tank.
Wade is good buddies with his Polaris dealer. I said you better take a pic and send to your buddy. He just smiled and said "I already did"

GT, yesterday #5 was much better from Grand Vallee east to Gaspe down to Perce compared to the Mont Joli to MSP.
You likely already seen this morning the trail into Perce was groomed last night  if you are headed that way today

Excellent, all kind of snow once you get out of the towns on the shore.
Some trails a bit choppy in spots as the grooming hasn' t caught up from the warm spell.
Today MSP to to Grande Vallee was good, from Grande Vallee to Gaspe right down to Grande Rivière was groomed and perfect conditions.
Only bad trail is the 16 km trail from #5 that goes to Perce Rock. It was brutal, don't think it seen a groomer in couple weeks. Had to ride standing the whole way it was so  bad.

Just got back from what was supposed to be a four day trip. There is plenty of snow everywhere however parking lots roads etc where completely melted down and dry. The road into the copper was bare. Sentier Chic Chocs was not in good shape but passable. We crossed that in heavy rain, fog and winds. Tough sledding.  The trail was narrow and moguled up in places. One massive crater at least 4 ft deep that nearly ended my trip right there. It was a very surreal experience. Nothing like that I have ever been through before  You could see the massive amount of snow that they had just got though.  We left Murdochville via black trail in a rental car that the flatbed we needed brought us.  It was all good into PALC from RDL, good into New Richmond and 595 was great up to lacache. Trails looked great leaving RDL by truck this morning but they are going to get hard and icy for sure. Some cold temps and a little fresh snow thrown in for good measure and they will be in great shape.

Gas at La Chace is only a few miles from the Chic Choc trail.   The gas is in Mont Louis, no gas in Mont St Pierre.
