GSX800 reacted to PLAYHARD in Wishing everybody well! And WASH YOUR HANDS!
Brother Iceman! This just in! You & all brave field-ops heroes who need to wash your hands twice! Tell Alain you need a paint touch-up?...
"When you live outside the city limits you usually have a septic system that needs to be pumped out about every five years.
It's a pretty big business and requires a special "Pumper Truck".
This one gets a lot of return business. Septic tank cleaned out by a local guy with a sense of humor getting a lot of business these days."

GSX800 reacted to markusvt in I did a thing today, (very sad day).
I closed the FCMQ 2019-2020 snowmobile tab on all the computers and devices I use until next year. I also moved the sled to summer storage. I have finally come to grips the season is over.

Once you ride in Quebec you'll never want to ride the states again
My trip down memory lane - I remember my first trip to Quebec. It was quite by accident. I had been reading about Quebec in the magazines. I think it may have been Snow Goer that had the section in their magazine about great places to ride across the US and Canada. Back in 1995, my buddy and I were supposed to meet my then nephew and circumnavigate the Michigan UP. Trip was all planned, then a few days before we were to leave, warm up and rain. Trip canceled. My buddy and I both had vacation, so I said let’s try Quebec. I called Alain at Motel Saint Agathe as he advertised a lot in the magazines at that time. He told us to come up, the trails are like white carpets. Man was he right. We had the greatest of times. After years of riding Tug Hill, and around our homes outside of Rochester, WOW WAS HE RIGHT! 25 years of the best riding in the world. Can’t wait to go back again!
In 2013 we did circumnavigate/saddlebag the entire UP. We caught it just right, good snow everywhere. It was a good time, and good riding all week, until Friday afternoon for the last 50 miles back into Sault Ste. Marie, it was like Tug Hill on steroids.
There is nothing like Quebec!

i just want to go back to Haltaparche and live out my days with Jean-Guy & Gypsie. With all seriousness I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life there. He's only going to be around a few more years and could get me "up to speed" with everything there. My dream would be to make it like the "Joncas" or "Meekos" but only more spectacular. All my friends (snowmobiling) and others would come to visit and we would have a grand ole time.

GSX800 got a reaction from PLAYHARD in Season Mileage Totals
Unretiring after the first of the year did not bode well for many trips. That, coupled with a mild winter back home, = low miles. 1477 miles on one Quebec trip, and about 30 more on a muddy Saturday run on Tug Hill. I guess I’ll take the glass half full approach. Winter ended with feelings of wanting more riding, rather than feelings of I’ve had enough...if that makes sense?

GSX800 got a reaction from PLAYHARD in Summit...my next trail sled
So I sent this to my group as I made a reference to some of the European tour groups we all run across in Quebec. We all talk about how they are riding in the middle or the left side of the trail. One of our guys brought something up...which side of the road are they programmed to drive on? Not that it makes it safe, but maybe there is some explanation to what we say is complete stupidity?

On my sled "green" means I have beer. If it's solid orange i'm running very low. If it's flashing orange I'm out and need you to stop if you have any.

GSX800 reacted to Shore1066 in Northbound
We usually get 1500 to 2000 miles a year and it's 99 percent in Quebec. I'm more afraid of riding on tug hill than the virus. It's just a great sport even at 30 below. All rides in Quebec are wonderful but some are more wonderful. Have a good summer. Next year is not that far away.

GSX800 reacted to snowmaster2112 in Northbound
Rolled into LeCabanon yesterday with my buddy about 1:30 with this on the odometer. All from this winter with a brand new 1200 left over. I feel EXTREMELY lucky to have been able to do this this season. Just in the “nick of time” too. It was sad leaving yesterday but the memories will last forever. Seasons come and go but THIS ONE is one that will NEVER be forgotten. It was like a cumulation of years of riding that all pulled together and enabled me to have the BEST year ever. Lifelong friendships were made and the riding was beyond spectacular. I want to give a “shout out” to all the people who made my winter so enjoyable:
”André” my soul brother in Quebec who puts up with me for going on 20 yrs. Thank you mom ami You ARE the best
Jeff from Dansville, NY ....my BFF riding partner. I promise I will try in the future to get us in before dark. Especially when it’s 30 below
Glenn from Vermont....the guy who I have laid down the most miles with over the years. May we have many more my friend
Kenny from Pikogan, My native soul brother who hooked me up in so many ways. Can’t wait to see you again my friend
Jeff in Joutel for hosting my crazy ass for two nights while i assaulted the 396 trail mercilessly
Samuel, Alex & Elphonse (half-ounce) in Miquelon for some of the CRAZIEST partying I have ever done. You guys ROCK !!
Nancy in Desmairsville for being the sweety she is. Thanks SO MUCH for your hair dryer
Isabelle in Chapais for hooking me up with the locals and providing a GREAT place to stay
Kenny Loon in Mistissinni for the EXTREME hospitality and showing me the native culture and food
Clifford & Brian (the “Twin Towers”) from Oujé-Bougoumou for letting me camp out and have a fabulous moose steak dinner
Andre & Jeanie in Parent for having a 4 star place to stay while in town.....and letting me use your garage to work on my sled...LOL
All the peeps at the Parent depanneeur. Cynthia, Elodi, Alice, Veronica (Tony’s fiesta wife)& Karine. And Tony.....the worlds best groomer. Thanks for that 10 mile late night groomer ride brother.
Yann from Parent. One cool dude. Had a great time partying with you.
”Popper” the 40+ yr Skiddo mechanic from AB Sports in Senneterre for taking care of me multiple times
Jack and “ little girl” from Lac Faillon. You two literally made my winter. One seriously AWESOME dude
Jean-Guy from Haltaparche. This man is what Quebec is ALL ABOUT. Your hospitality is sincerely appreciated!!!!! Can’t wait to see you again my friend.
And to all the GREAT fellow QR members I got to meet and spend time with this season:

Now that's the way to start retirement. I sincerely hope you can do more of what you guys love to do for many more years. So rest up because next year is just around the corner. Your adventures put a smile on a lot of people's faces. Have a great summer.

GSX800 reacted to Northbound in Jeff & Sandy 2020 retirement trip
So.....tomorrow we head for home. Sandy really likes her 137. We both love our oxygen helmets. We rode 9893 km or 6147 miles. No exciting stories or drama but we had a great time. We enjoyed visiting with the many Quebec Riders.
I think I like retirement.
I hope everyone finishes the year safely.

Well, I guess at this point I’ll change the oil and put the sleds away. We’re hunkered in at home, and that is probably for the best. Sure hope we don’t run out of toilet paper. All of you in the QR world, stay safe and healthy.
