Trailblazer
3 hour drive up to Saint Raymond yesterday, had some time to kill as the boys were an hour behind me, decided to take the 159 in, the goat path. Did they snow here you ask, oodles and oodles. Gonna make for an exciting day today, heading up to the lake via 355. Let's see how things pan out. Trailblazer
Okay here we are in Roberval, Le Chateau. 23 out the gate was groomed, 73 to Relais Marmite groomed but just before the Relais we saw the groomers skid all alone in the trail, oh oh!!! After Relais Marmit no grooming single path trail, our favorire!!! I think not!!! Little tricky with on coming sleds, not many cuz it's a Thursday but all it takes is one so we're on our guard. Take LT2 and 5 k outside of Trappeur groomer is having a bad day but afterwards we're having a good day, groomer to Lac Edward La Domaine, take gas'n lunch. Owner tells us the groomer left Lac Bouchette last night...bonus woo hoo groomed trail. 6 of us made damn good time to Lac Bouchette despite a few mishaps, everyone has there panties wet with the new snow. 2 hrs15 min we're having a good day! 83 after the lake not groomed but well tapped down. We make good time to the 373 where we find.....you guess it groomed trail, head to the BRP dealer in Roberval for a quick fix, park it at the Chateau with 340 k for da day. Trailblazer
At Vauvert taking in some coffee and warming up, bitterly cold this morning. Right out of the fate we got lucky freshly groomed oh ya baby we hit it right. It's like they groomed all night everywhere for us. Bringing the boys to the Valins later. Where are you Tom? Trailblazer
After lunch the team split up, 2 went south and 4 went north skipping across the top of the Valins. Got lucky with the grooming again and again, then we had to pay the piper for the good stuff. Running down Bras Louis was magic carpet ride, first to make tracks 1/2 way down then we catch'n up with the groomer and we pay after passing him for the next 20 k, R-Motion Air Ride cranked up and inside the suit was getting hot. Reach the 93 and we are good all the way into town. Try not turning around outside of the trail unless you got a sled for it!!! Some lookouts, not sure if you can see it but there's a rainbow, imagine that!! neksledr
Thanks again JG for a great trip! It was great to be part of a run with seasoned QR that knew all the trails and destinations to see! It was nice to just sit back and work the throttle. Looking forward to CT Snow Dusts' reports! Great group of guys, made for an enjoyable run. The black trail on the ride home was so smooth that a fella with flashing lights and a gun flagged me down and asked that I back off the throttle a bit. He also handed me a $266 penalty. Whoops! Already making plans for the return trip on Wednesday, hope we see you there. Terry

He also handed me a $266 penalty. Whoops! Not fun! But that's a GREAT sense of humor you've got there! Definitely a challenge to change gears from white to black. I've always wondered how the Indy & Nascar guys feel at civilians speed limits, or when red lights go green, after a race.
Trailblazer
Got back to MTL last night but no computer for me, Mrs wanted me all to herself...life is good. Last day short ride back to Saint Raymond, 383 freshly groomed till the 368 split, was groomed earlier but not the night before, snow was loose some which made for some good cornering, got to the 23 and took a photo shoot with the LSG archway then off to Apica look out which was outstanding on our blue jay day. Down to L'Etape for lunch'n gas, 186 k, the Poo's were on fumes and sweat'n it but they manage to crawl in and emptied the pumps. 23 from Apica look out was a little rough to L'Etape, we could see the skids trail off to the side signalling it was groomed the night earlier but what time the groomer finished is unknown, given the amount of traffic that had passed before us it had gotten pretty soft and was getting beat up pretty damn fast. Glad we were returning on a Saturday and not a Sunday. During our lunch we were getting a little worried as to what was down the trail waiting for us. Well as it seems we hit it right once again, FFW!!!!! (flat fast wide) how sweet it was. Whatta ride. Oh ya a little heads up Ice, somebody doesn't like your sticker, stopped in at Relais Ste Anne 60 k from Saint Raymond on 23 and was wondering how come i don't see an Iceman sticker here then one of the guys pointed out an unglued image of your sticker on the window, you gotta be kidding me!!!! You need to make another trip up there for a replacement Don. It was nice to have met many of the QR"s at the Delta the evening earlier, Bill and the Mrs, 182Ray and the Mrs, VT_Blueyamaha54, Shane and hopscotching 800Steve and company all day long. A big thanks to Neksledr for taking a leap of faith, glad to have met you and ridden with you Terry, you're a part of the Dream Team now. It was a real treat to have ridden with the CT and VT boys a great bunch of guys. Mr.Excitement and Caaannnnaaaaddddaaaa no more lurking, the latest guest to soon become a member aka code name CTSnowdust. Waiting..... A few from the day
