Do you have freedom of speech in Canada?  Say what you want, when you want, if people don't like it they don't have to listen!
My $.02, read if yo want.... As a business owner I do not market or advertise and my business is flourishing!  Its because I treat my clients with respect and provide good services they appreciate.  This way of conducting business is how I market new business.  If you treat people well they will tell others who value the same treatment which will grow the business itself.  I assume this is how many small businesses become established to the point where they can eventually advertise.
I do not use social media, Facebook or anything like that so we rely on reputation and loyalty to keep growing the business.  I would be willing to bet that is the case for many establishments you see along the trails...
This BS is all over a measly $100 and who knows maybe the business didnt know if QR,  try pissing off the main group of participates here and see where that gets this site...  Not to mention I have NEVER been to the advertiser section of this site, my bad I guess....

I was a Ford man (Powerstroke and V10) and decided to try a new Duramax 3500 HD.  So far I like it.  I need it for the boat more than the sleds.

Teet F8SP reacted to wulsock1 in A great year for sure!
So Dad and I probably had one of if not the best year so far in Quebec!
Starting from the begining we drove to Montmagney from Northern NY the first week of February. Our goal was to make it out to the Gaspe' Pinninsula and make it around the whole loop after trying two other years and not making it one due to not enough time and the other was due to snow storms. well this year we made it. And I have to say it was a great experience! It was everything I have heard. I'm sure there was a bump or two along the way but I just can't seem to remember them! At one point Dad asked me why we would even think about going anywhere else. At that time we had been riding on the best trails we had ever been on in our lives! And that says a lot because we have riden somewhere around 12 or 13 thousand miles in Quebec by that point. A seven day trip and we put on 1521 miles.
Next trip, after a few short talks about where to go for our March trip, which included Dad and I and my three best freinds, it was no doubt we were headed back to Gaspe'. So for me a 13 hour ride from North Carolina to NY then a few hours of sleep and a 9 hour ride in the truck we are in RDL on Friday march 3. Leave RDL Saturday morning and off to Amqui. A little windy but trails a 10 for sure. Sunday a ride south and meet Groomer and Linda and company at the club house. An honor for sure! Leave club house and make the loop on 587 through Metepidia and back up 5 through Amqui up to the Sugar shack in St Paul. At this point we learn that we can stay an extra day!!! WOO HOO! So off to Murdocville via La Cache. Call ahead and learn the Copper only has one room,BUT, they have a house avallible! So we march on across the Chic Chocs. Trail had been groomed the day before and was spectacular! I think we set a time record! Get to the house in Murdocville ans it is very nice! I highly recomend it for a group. I think it had 8 beds. A very nice bathroom and shower. And of course a full kitchen. Next day we are off to Rimouski. A little bit of a long day across 5 through Mt St Piere because of the up and down and turs. And a little bit of freezing rain getting in to Rimouski. Next day back to the truck. Rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow just about everything mother nature could send our way. But every face still had a smile on it! Like Dad likes to say its going to be an Adventure! And that it was. Back to the truck by 11:30 load up and some lunch and home we go! Some where between 950 and 980 miles depending on which sled you went by! Dad and I tallied up 2470 for the year. Well at least I did he was lucky enough to get an early 2 day ride in in January for around 600 miles. Not sure how I feel about my riding partner going without me but he is my dad so I guess it's ok.
Thursday morning in NY (Clayton) dad and I decide its time to go see the dealer. A short talk with the salesmen and our 2015 800 etecs are of the trailer and in the dealers barn and the new 850s will be here in the fall!
Now I am back in NC after another 13 hours in the truck (Broke it up into two days. Stayed in PA last night) I am sitting here writing this and thinking how great life is and how great it is to have a Dad and friends that love to to do this as much as I do! Next year is TOO far away!

This is why I have a satellite activated detonation device on my sled.  If I find out its stolen they get a big surprise, and if you look up in the air you may see the halo where they are at...
Hearing stuff like this makes my blood boil...  When is Canada going get a handle on this its been going on for decades?

Yes I am short, 5'8" (possibly 5'9" with my Klim boots haha) so maybe thats why I like to stand a lot.  Nothing wrong with my sled I have adjustable handle bar risers on the cat that can go up and down with the push of a button in seconds so its very comfortable to do either on my sled.  A great feature I will never go without after having it...
People who always sit will of course say its better to sit, especially when their sled isn't meant for standing (touring sleds, vipers, RX1, etc).  You simply can not ride these sleds standing up comfortably.
This could go on forever like the 2 vs 4 stroke debate...  I guess thats why I started with "to each their own". Do what you want just be safe and have a lot of fun!

The Apex is fine if you stay on paved trails sitting down, seen so many burried apex within feet of the trail just sunk and they are Heavy, almost need a tow truck if stuck with bags on...  Many friends that have had them will never go back after riding the new chassis.
To each their own; some would never get their butt of the seat even to fart, some would prefer to rarely sit down, some do a bit of both... Each riding style has a different type of sled style better meant for their likings...
Maybe the problem with yamaha is their branding for sleds has gone down since disappearing from the popular snocross racing market for past several years.  The younger generations miss the whole concept of a pristine fit and finish and build quality that has been the norm with Yamaha, they just want the sled with the monster logo on the windshield somewhere that matches Hibbert or Lavalle...  They also miss out on the two stroke market which is still well over 50% of the total market I would guess.

I am agile and in good shape so its easy to stand up from sitting down...  Sitting down is 60/40 for me, I am more of a stander than a sitter because I ride a different style.  Not about the seat its about having fun doing what you enjoy which is a lot of the time standing up and leaning around with the sled in much more control than anyone sitting down.  Not trying to be a snocross racer but it is funny watching the butt riders in a kidney bleeder section.
You know when they try to get off the trail to park, thats not doing wrong its being safe but thats where I see a lot of the heavy sleds get stuck.
I am 36 not 16 and I stand up a lot, I don't wear a back pack but I have to admit my jacket pockets are usually full of jerky and candy so maybe I should...  Sometimes its nice to video your adventures with a camera or go pro, for me its all for memories with my father and I so I enjoy getting him on film.  I get your point though because I see that most of the jackasses on the trials (or off illegally) have these two things and probably standing up.  I get put in to their category if I stand up and ride responsibly so its just how it is and I get it but still not changing my style but maybe you'll understand when you see me going by standing up on a groomed trail...
Only Stand up to pee, hahaha now thats funny!!
