    Hi ! Pipe master

Thank you for your good words.

Garage on the other side is no more there. The gas station is near the lake now.

Resto bar and motel open hours will be 5 am to 3 am now.

where you on trail condition before i think  I remember you ? I was in st Come before

Where in St Come were you ?

  2. Best of luck with your new ownership ! My first trip to Quebec, 20+ yrs ago we stopped there for lunch and have launched from and stayed there a few times. I assume you'll have the same rooms in the main building and in the back ?   We used to park sleds in garage across the street, will that still be an option ?

No they are definitely having issues.  I have noticed they already started to update trails.  They added the connector for Mt. Tremblant, so might have created some sort of bug.

It looks trail 322 crosses the Baskatong  at different location also

Another option could be to head north a bit to Martins for a rustic adventure stay

Martin is a cool , off the beaten path kinda place. Rustic yes, but food and hospitality are great !  Cabins only,no lodge. We have a group of 8 staying there in January. First time we headed there the groomer was down and it was a bitch getting there and we took a road back to Clova the next morning. I believe it's just under 30 miles from Clova

Damn, a 1000lbs limit including the rider!?  I would have trouble riding a bicycle then on those trails in the Berkshire Mass forests to keep under that weight.  lol  I have heard the ATV trails in Quebec have all different kinds of terrain and I think I would enjoy seeing the area with no snow on it as well.   I just love seeing the wilderness and what Canada has to offer.  I rode Tug Hill area with it a couple weeks ago and it was fun, but its mostly dirt roads and limited on terrain changes,

A group of us rode Tug Hill a few years back, never go back. We rode up in New Hampshire ( Ride the Wilds ) a couple if times, very nice ! Last year we did day trips out of Rabaska. Now that was a Blast ! First time ever in Quebec for most of the group so Rabaska was a Grand Slam, I looked like a hero.

    Hope this helps out

    A few additional trip notes:

The new polaris indy 850 really hugs the trail, as a die hard Skidoo man it pains me to admit it

The owner of the faillon took his leaf blower to all the sleds in the yard so all guests started on a clean sled in the morning,  never had that experience before, it was nice to not have to deal with the powder on everything 1st thing in the AM

Breakfast at Montagner and Vilain does not start until 8, we deferred to the local snack bar so we could get an earlier start in ASJ. At vilain they sent us to our cabin with all the necessities to make ourselves an early breakfast in our cabin

Gas was 1.29/L at the mill, and 2.00/L in Desmaraisville

You can find gas at Lac Eden, head right around the lake and stop at the log cabin with the red tin roof.

They leave the radio on in the heated garage at the Nordic, like cows in the barn, the sleds were happy in the morning

Mario gets a little testy if you want to eat after 7 but Celine's jokes make up for it.

Getting from the bottom of M19 back to St. Raymond is a PIA

    Thanks for report and pics.

Wife and I stayed at Vilain and didn't get out of breakfast until 10:30. I wish they gave us that option, nice of them !

A Happy sled in the morning is always a good thing. :)

Is Celine back at Kanawata ??

Great write up and pics Byrd. Really enjoyed it. Got a question though......

how in the hell does that Tupperware container on the back of that sled stay put with one bungee.

im guessing it’s drilled and attached to a plate at the bottom and the bungie is just for the lid.

THAT is what I need to know !!  That setup defies everything I ever learned about snowmobiling  LOL !

Thanks for the report and pics

Yep. Chambord has modern cottages with multi bedrooms.

And bar-resto & outdoor pools & sauna are a few steps from your front door.

Right on the trail that shortcuts the southwest corner of the lake to Roberval.

Wife and I stayed there a few weeks ago. Real nice place, hot tubs, good food and right on trail. We stayed in one of the condo like units , very nice. I would go back for sure !

    maybe he’ll reconsider ?

We have been thinking a lot about Don. For us his contributions are in valuable. This site has been special in that we try to help and inform one another. It’s a crying shame when a person insults a major contributor out of nowhere.

I just wanted to say I really miss your input. I have had the privilege of learning about Quebec trails from your eloquent, informative, humorous posts.

I hope your having a great season.

I was wondering why the Iceman wasn't posting. Wow you think Iceman would have a little bit thicker skin than that. One little insult and off he goes. Very dissapointed in both parties. Iceman and his reports are missed very much. Too bad for all !
