The planned M&M Tours Part Deux has been revised to the 3M Tour, Moores had to tapped out last minute.  Left Oliphant march 11th trailered all day to Maniwaki. Chateau Logue review will come later. On the trails by 10:30 heading towards to Lac Taureau. Took a lot of local trails, saw lots of dear. Hit 63 east mount Laurie. First half was excellent, lots do fun in the loose snow, up 33 to Lac Taureau to spend the night. Nice spot, good dinner way too many people for these Hill Billies. Off to St Raymond tomorrow.

Mike, we all ride with a group of snowmobile friends that we have met over the years. What’s amazing is these guys are from all over New England, Quebec, Labrador and now, Newfoundland. The areas we love to ride.  The circle just keeps getting bigger!
So when something happens on  you ride in a region, they have friends who have friends to help out, share  history ect. It really is the connections of people that makes it interesting.  Not unlike the sharing of stories and adventures here on QR.
Riding along yesterday, I said what is different here in a Newfoundland’s the other areas we ride?

Some of the things that popped out. You get big woods roads, (some groomed!) high mountain plains, coastal barrens, snow bowls to play on, gorgeous views, very low traffic count . Plus at no given time are you more than 80 or 100 miles from an outfitter or Community that have great people living there.
Its not that you don’t find many of these features riding the Gaspe or other regions in Quebec, it just seems all these features are so close , large and yet condensed in a relatively small region here, but as your riding, it seems like no mans land!  We love adventure riding and this is a great model for it.
Kind of like every type of riding that there is.

We will be back here for another tour for sure!

I was wondering why the Iceman wasn't posting. Wow you think Iceman would have a little bit thicker skin than that. One little insult and off he goes. Very dissapointed in both parties. Iceman and his reports are missed very much. Too bad for all !

Left oliphant ontairo on Wednesday,  arrived at 7 PM in La Binnik, in vile Marie. 3 McKenzies 2 Moores.  Great hospitality great dinner as always.  Thursday -19 no hurry to leave left at 11 heading east. Gas at belleterre. 2 hours of twisty trails. Things opened up, after that, lots of low hanging trees, be careful!!! Close to 30 km of plowed road after Joncas. Saw 2 wolfs, hunting moose. Arrived at Pavillon La Verendrye. Great day. Great food.  Trails groomed all the way. 10 out of 10

Bluebird drama free 455km day. We left Windigo at 9 and arrived at Lac Taureau at 6. Gas at Relais 22, La Tuque, and Mattawin. Everything was freshly groomed and we didn’t see a lot of traffic. We finally got to ride the M20 trail and our timing couldn’t have been any better, 30 seconds from the M20/360 junction we met the groomer coming right at us. I can’t remember the last time I had a 50km magic carpet ride like that! We headed south and visited Barrage Matawin before reaching our final destination. We had a fantastic dinner paired with a beautiful Super Tuscan recommended by our waiter Paul and then hit the outdoor hot tub and sauna. If you have never stayed at Lac Taureau I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.
Later start tomorrow as we only have a 350km day planned to Meekos.

For sure everyone appreciates the live updates from the trail. For those who don't realize it, they aren't the easiest thing to do after you've been on the trail all day, then you need gas up, unload, check-in, shower, have dinner, catch up on what you've missed during the day, plan the next days ride and you're tired as hell and need to get up early the next day.

Day 2 of M&M tours. Woke up to 1/2 inch of ice, covering machines. Took seats off and brought inside then up for breakfast. Machines back together, left at 10 am. Fait chaude Natalie (hot Natalie)  had great hospitality once again. 30 km of the 386 was plowed, bank was groomed up nice. Rest of the ride up to Kitcisakik was excellent. Gassed up at the Rez, self psyched up to hit the Fou Fous. On up to Louvicourt for lunch. Girls wanted to get into the "sauce", but we decided to do a little loop. On up 83, to local trail, west to the 313, back down to Val-D'or.  Won't mention any names but somebody's wife mad a wrong turn on a VTT trail. Arrived at Forestel just after 4 pm. Trails are in good shape but many trees down across trail. Lots of cowboys in town tonight, going to get out of Dogde early tomorrow morning.

The chosen ones took a taxi to A&W burger for dinner. Perfect. Back to Dilligence and after a good nights sleep once again the “chosen ones” suit up and head out to rule the world. 9:30 early by our standards. But chosen ones do what they want right? Still cold lots of wind. Trails nicely groomed right from hotel. 93 up to local orange trail near Lac a Jim. All perfect trail. Wind blowing us sideways, crazy having to keep skiis turned to right to go straight. That much wind at times. Nuts. Down orange trail all the way to St Prime. We are banging out the miles. Back to 373 and it’s beautiful too. More sleds today but it is Saturday. Not that many. Trails are hard but very nice. To TQ83 and gas in St Hedgwidge at noon. Gas and go. Down 83 lots more sleds all headed up. 83 was perfect. Awesome day big sun but big wind still. Easy ride, but then again we are the chosen ones. Smooth run to Relais 22 no one headed down but us plenty of sleds headed up. Gas and late lunch at Relais 22 at 2:15 pm. We hang out to kill time and warm up. Leave there at 4pm out 83 to Windigo. In the driveway and parked 4:35pm. Great run today. Trails certainly more icy near here. Hopefully more traffic will loosen trail up for us and get us back to Shawinigan tomorrow. This adventure is winding down. Time to bring it on home.

Wings and smoked meat sandwiches tonight at Windigo. Happy Bunch.

    Until next time.

Day 3 of M&M tours. Woke up to a skiff of snow, -23 sunny skies. Gassed up on the trail around 11. Made wrong turn in Val-D'or as usual. Fast Jazz say "you fuck up?" Headed west on 83, not far out of town, stopped by the QPP. Showed paper work. Took the local trail south to hook up with the 309. On to Rapide 7 for gas. Stopped for a picnic shortly after. Continued on to logger carnage below Moffet. As told by local at the seen "The logger was stuck in the harvester for 3 hours with just a small air pocket to breath". Sun going down, Fast Jazz jonesing for rum. Had to turn up the wick, in before sunset knotted off the last 60 Km fairly quick. Checked into Chalet Temikami south of Ville Marie. Trails where in good shape except some areas were very icy. Good 3 day tour, 817km. Stay tuned for M&M tours part DEUX in March, 6-8 day tour. P.S. Dino goes on all our trips!!!
