The time has come for all of us , in concert with outfitters , hotels, dealerships, Bombardier, clubs, and private land owners, and FCMQ, to be proactive, and require everyone to ...Take The Pledge....with Bombardier ...as a trail pass requirement...mandatory sled stickers...no pledge sticker...no gas....spelled out plain and clear ...registration revocation and fines...sled seizure...signs at hotels and stops like Repo, etc. If we don't get proactive...we all know where this is going...and reactive isn't a place we want to be...the weather is already numbering our days...we can control everything but the weather..AND TRAIL ACCESS. Ride off trail in designated areas..or be gone. If we aren't going to be proactive and sit around complaining... we will not have much of a voice when the powers to be do sit down...and we will not like the conversation on that day. We all have a lot at stake here...this is our recreation...but for many it's their livelihood...we have 3300 members here alone...it's a good place to start...look how many stickers iceman was able to distribute playing around... we need to be on front of this now...before it's too late...and that day is coming if we do nothing...my 2 cents worth, happy trails, Bob.

The Pessamit Innu Council will hire two territorial officers to monitor traffic and behaviour along the TQ3 trail in their territory.

Several solutions have been considered in order to allow traffic on the TQ3 within the territory of the community of Pessamit this winter.
"The new trail that is currently under construction will not be ready this winter. It will be ready next winter," explains Marcel Furlong, Reeve of the Manicouagan RCM.
He adds that there have been "discussions between the band council and the various snowmobile and ATV clubs. The Innu Council of Pessamit then issued conditions so that it would be possible to ride this winter on the old trail.
Among these conditions, there was the presence of two surveillance officers from the community of Pessamit. "They will be patrolling the TQ3 on the community's territory over the next 15 weeks," said Furlong.
"There is no connection between the new trail and the existing trail that will be used this winter. All that's being decided right now is the old trail that was in the community. The new trail will be outside the community," said the Reeve.
As soon as the clean-up of the debris left by the December 23 storm is complete, traffic will be possible. Furlong expects the trail to open next week.
It should be noted that the officers who will be hired will not be mandated to issue tickets or fines, but rather to ensure the proper behaviour of users of this route. Safety signs will also be installed, another condition for the use of the trail.
Finally, the Manicouagan MRC has granted $19,872 in assistance through Innovation and Development Manicouagan for this project, which totals $24,840.

Alain said a few years ago this was a slippery slope they started down with the trail north of Saint Donat. I'll boycott the area if this is how it's gonna play out. Lots of other places to go ride. I can see the off trail crowd being a target. On trail group has already paid their dues imo.

A quick update tonight.  JAK drove up today.  Sandi and I met him and went out to restaurant Estaminet tonight hence the late post.  Like everyone says, the food is good there.
Today's ride, the trails are fine.  We took 44, 544, 565 and 35 to Cabano.  The pizza place is in business but is closed Mon and Tue.  Opens at 4 pm Wed - Fri.  Opens at 11 am Sat & Sun.  So today we ate at Mike's in Cabano.
While we were in Cabano, we rescued a rider from the dreaded ditch along side of the trail.

yes the heavy dry weight seems out of place as far as other four-stroke sleds.   I had a xcr 650 last year liked it alot but wasn't the sled for saddlebaging trips so it didn't get used much so I sold it.  now just one sled set up for what I do 90% of the time.

Todays Run:  left Delta and headed for Mt Valin. In town trails all freshly groomed. Go across both bridges and take a right to head for 93.  Trail went to 4/10.  The quad trail that ran beside it was all freshly groomed, snowmobile trail nope. At least it was a short run to 93. Head east on 93, back to Mint conditions. All good to K31. Had lunch and a splash of fuel and off to St. Ambroise. 93 west to 328 west to 367.  All good running. Did a loop in that area and then headed back to the Delta.  175 miles today. Not much traffic at all. Nice to sled mid week for sure.

Left Saint Raymond and headed for L’Etape. Plenty of snow. Trails 7/10. Last groom 4-5 days ago. Fueled up and had a bite to eat and off to Mount Apica. Warmed up and had a quick drink. Trails 9/10 north of L’Etape. Took 23 north to 83 East into the Delta in Jonquiere.  Trails again 9/10.  Great run 197 Miles.  My Girlfriend did great on the 600 Switchback. First time riding in Canada. Will try to post some pics.

Blueblood reacted to towing in Joliette/Grand-Mere by #3/#63 trails photo ride-report January 15, 2023
Here is the ride we did last Sunday

With the good snowfall on Friday followed by a mild temperature night, we already knew that the trails conditions would deteriorate  quickly under the effect of traffic, so we postponed our departure to Sunday. We launched directly from the home in St-Thomas de Joliette on Sunday morning under a beautiful sun and a temperature of -15C.

Superb winter conditions, very hard frozen groomed trail  giving ideal conditions. Here on #3 towards Berthierville

The wood sections were very snowy

Nice encounter on this winter morning

The La Chaloupe river is ok but stay in the marked trail!

We continued on #3 to the east with perfect conditions

Another great encounter! they weren't nervous at all, just happy to run outside

In the St-Barthelemy sector where the trail get souther the snow was a little swept but on an icy base it ride very well

I chose to keep #3 and go through Maskinonge village instead of #63 which goes through St-Justin. It's good but there is a section of 500' swept away where you can see the dirt. In the afternoon we came back by St-Justin on #63 instead and it's more snowy

    Here Ste-Ursules sector

We are used to heading between #3 and #63 via St-Sévère but the Rivière du Loup that we have to cross direct on the ice is not safe yet so we opted for #63 trail

We took a break on the beautiful site of the Magnan Falls in Charette

The falls are usually completely frozen but this year you can still see the water flowing

    We continued on #63

And took the #3 towards St-Étienne

And crossed the St-Maurice on the #3 at the height of La Gabelle. A few slush spots but it's marked and rides well

The east side of the St-Maurice was a little rougher but still ride well and the snow cover is very good

We stopped to eat at pizzeria du Lac at Lac à la Tortue near Grand-Mère.

After a good meal break we left and retraced our steps on the same route with a few exceptions. Here in the area of Notre Dame du Mont-Carmel

We did a pitstop in St-Étienne. Unlike past years where the trail passed in the yard between the gas station and the BRP NC dealer, the trail this year passes behind NC and you have to take a very short trail to go to gas or at NC

We saw this impressive dogs team on the way back, there are 2 wide...

We took a break again at the Magnan Falls in Charette but at the top of the falls this time

As I said at the beginning it's rare to see the water in the falls it's usually all hard frozen

We then continued west. The trail conditions had deteriorated a little since our lunch but from the fork of the #350 St-Paulin sector it became very beautiful and fast again until St-Cuthbert.

Here a snow bridge not far from the village of Ste-Ursules

We took the #63 to go through St-Justin, it was superb

We came across the Dozer de St-Barthelemy without the drag which was at finishing some work on the trail

We went through St-Norbert to come back, the trail was more bumpy from the traffic but it was ok

We were back home around 4:30 p.m. with 322kms (200miles) of happiness on the meter!

I know that most of you won't ride that south but the good news is that the trail network enlarge and is getting more and more connected to spread the traffic through. There are few rivers mostly along the St-Laurence river that are not ready yet. St-Maurice river is crossable but the trail on the river is not ready yet. The interactive map seems pretty accurate now on the trail condition.
If we can keep getting January like temperature it will be perfect...
    Bye!

I think I figured out how to make it work. Click start, then instead of hitting a waypoint, click end for every waypoint you want until the final destination . The previous "ends"  become sequentially numbered yellow "waypoints"  as you proceed along your route.

Update for trails Hello everyone, here are the changes made to our trails for this winter.
Between Chambord and St-François, from the transmission line to St-François: new trail 83, created by the Club de vtt du Lac, about 2.5 Km. *So the transmission line is CLOSED: see photo 1.
Loss of right of way when arriving at Chemin du Moulin, near the bridge and the old "Auberge du Toit Vert" in St-François de Sales. A new trail has been redone: see photo 2.
Loss of right of way: trail 373 in Roberval between row 2 and 3. New trail redone towards row 2: cross the road to Roberval and continue on row 2 then turn left via the private lot to row 3: see picture 3.
For trail 83 de la lièvre, the trail will go through chemin Lamontagne. There are not supposed to be any logging operations this winter.
For trail 355, Lac-Bouchette to Lac Edouard, there will be forestry activities on Zec Kiskissink. From the junction near Kiskissink Lake for about 6 km, the trail will be laid out on the side, be careful on the bridge, traffic with trucks. Thereafter, it will take a bypass path for about 12 km to return to the usual path. Picture 4
A big thank you to the landowners for their collaboration and support to allow us to offer you beautiful trails. Respect for staying on marked trails, private and government land, is super important and above all fragile. We continue to work with landowners, municipalities, the MRC, various departments, forestry companies, etc., to maintain harmonization and the sustainability of our trails.
Happy snowmobiling season and be careful!

I would suggest everyone carrying fuel.  that's a long run if your pushing any snow and if it's like it normally is and smooth its hard not to run fast.
