  1. Yes too early. I was referring to Weymontaci. do you know are those new trails or off the standard map trails or trails based upon personal gps experience?
  2. Monmouth county. Northern Jersey Shore. What days are you planning as I have to be here 24th and 26th. We could leave 27th, but we were originally looking to do early Feb in case thaw comes early. But no plans set in stone. How many guys you have going?
  3. Ah yes. There appears to be 2. I was referring to the one in the top right of GTs map. Nice place simple and we like better than Relais 22 if you have to stop in that neck of the woods.
  4. GT...where did you get this map from? I see in several places what appear to be shortcuts off the main trail. Did you draw these in or does the software company? For example, north of Kanawata, the 345 goes up to 83 which then east takes you into Manawan reservation. This map shows if you come out of Kanawata bear right, there appears to be a different trail right into Manawan. Just curious?
  5. What days are you going and would you be interested in two more joining you? We've been riding QC for 20 years and experienced at 1000-1500 loop trips. Your mileage per day is perfect but never rode Gaspe before. Always north of Seaway.
  6. Windigo is well east of Parent and just west of Relais 22. A good day trip from Mt Laurier but we go to Windigo almost every year and the trails in that sector are fast and wide. At night the owner has fox come up to the door looking for food and Friday night is happening for being in the middle of nowhere. In mt Laurier, definitely rabaska. Top notch place.
  7. But across the street is where all of the Beavers are, considering this is a wildlife expedition. I'm just saying.
  8. Take 345 north from Cabanon about 2.5 hours to Repos. Repos to Kanawata is an hour maybe a bit less. The trail up there crosses over road. If road has fresh snowfall you can run logging road at 80-100 and be there very fast as the road is wide. Very wide. Kanawata to the old Haltaparch and then Gouin is probably 3-4 hours. Out of Kanawata again old logging road converted to trail but the trail is one of my favorites as its wide and wide open. So probably a good 8-10 hour day with stops. Ps you're missing some great riding north of St Michel. Gas at Kanawata. No gas until Gouin unless you swing into Parent and backtrack. Casey to Parent there is an unmarked logging road but you need to know where you are going. You can also stay at Repos or Kanawata overnight.
  9. Can you take comparative pics with and without on and post whenever you have the chance? I'm interested in it as well.
  10. 800steve- did you go off trail north of valin by Pipmaucan. If so, how were conditions and was it rideable?
  11. I'm definitely not here to bash but two of us almost had our sleds stolen from our trailer which was locked at that place. We packed up night before and told them we were leaving at 5am. At 430 we awoke looked outside and saw shadows. Got dressed ran downstairs found two locks cut. 10 mins later those sleds would have been gone. By residential area by hotel so someone was watching us load the night before. We were lucky. Prefer safety and procedures of Delta.
  12. Considering last minute drive in with 3 guys to the area tomorrow. Is there a great spot to park buy passes and register sleds. Would be coming from NJ?
  13. Group of 3 of us heading from st Michele to Kanawata to windigo that Saturday then a loop up and around LSJ for a 5 days. If I see a procession of sleds, I will definitely stop. I will be leading on '11 1200 gade red and black.
  14. I'll pay it. My sled doesn't push very easily. I think Kanawata to windigo is 100 miles and Relais 22 is 125 so I'm ok with a 4Tec, but rather be safe than sorry.
  15. Heading from Cabanon to Windigo next month via repos Kanawata Casey weymontici then windigo. I was counting on gas and prefer not to go La Tuque way into Windigo. Hopefully, weymo opens up for gas soon as prefer not to run so close to empty. If heading east/west, drop down into Casey. If snow cover is good or recent snow, there is a road about 1 mile north of Casey. A few years back, owner of Casey restaurant, helped us out make up time as we hit some morning sled delays on our way to Clova. If you take that road westward, you drop right into a trail just outside of town of Parent and this cut off lots of time and miles. Look on google maps or local qc road site....we did 80 comfortably on this wide road.
  16. Heading that way on Sunday from windigo to LSJ region. Is the trail closed from Windigo to Relais 22? With the recent snow....can you run the road? I had always heard it was a fast run from Relais 22 to Roberval?
  17. Great report. I've been riding in QC for over 20 years and I usually plan our groups trips. To be sitting at Scoobyraid telling my buddies that we can only go back via Chibougamou and we can't continue the loop as you probably intended, they would be like you're crazy. I guess the conditions near Jonquiere and south/east must have been awful for you to go back the way you came. Looks like a very memorable trip.....wow.
  18. Where is this place in relation to the Valinout? Normally, we stay at Passion in the cabins? Are these nicer? More expensive?
  19. 600 - I did not read last weeks post nor was my post intended to bash any brand nor a brand you prefer. My situation was from personal experience. As far as the stats of Audi and Brp, I can get real sales figures of Audi USA vs the other 2 as i used to be a local Club President and speak to various industry insiders regularly who can confirm market share movement. As for Brp I do not have market share data and again my comment was my own personal experience after owning 6 different Polaris snowmobiles dating back to my first 84 Indy. I did not mean any disrespect to you nor anyone else and will keep further brand comments to myself. Have a good evening.
  20. I've owned or leased Audi's consistently over the last 15 years. After the disasters of the 80s and cars accelerating on their own, Audi turned their act around. Like BRP, I believe they are innovators and build quailty products. More customers are leaving BMW and Mercedes than ever before similar to how many Polaris diehards stopped living the lie and switched to BRP. The A7 in that commercial is a very nice looking car
  21. Sorry didn't realize Casey was closed this year. Thx for clarifying. You could also get the brp gas buddy and strap it down. With my 06 600 sdi and the attached can, I had a 250 mile range before getting gas. We would never run that low. Ultimately one guy carried oil in it so we didn't have to chase down dealers for brp synthetic oil on large week long loop trips. Now with the 1200, oil is not an issue anymore.
  22. Spoke to my dealer service team today. The auxiliary light is not available for my 2011 1200 renegade, unless someone knows otherwise......
  23. Gas at repos, Kanawata, and Casey (resto and gas). You will be fine with any of the 3. Have gotten it all 3 places often.
