A great run out of RDL this morning back to the Armstrong. Club house.
Met Markusvt and Dooright at the universal this morning and got a chance to connect. It was great to talk snowmobiling , and put faces and names together. You can tell we all have a passion for snowmobiling!
Than a bit later in the morning we reconnect, we both were headed west, so by chance we ended up sharing duties breaking trail out of RDL this morning. A nice storm laying anywhere from 10" to 18" in places, should set this region into the full on winter mode.
Still I'll hard to believe it is still December!
This was trail 526 south to the 35 Railbed this am.
Awesome powder to ride in!
Happy Trails

Scranton1 reacted to revct1 in 2017 Jack & Sandi's trip
OK. I meant to talk about the 850 but supper was calling.
Now this isn't to turn the thread into this sled vs that sled. I try to keep my reports about the trail conditions. This is for all those that are wondering how the Gen-4 850 is. We have a Gen-4 850 Renegade X. It replaced my 800 E-tec Renegade Adrenaline. Yes Dave the 850 was the first sled out of the tent during the fire. It just happened to be closer to the door than Sandi's sled.
With only one day on the 850, I can say if you liked your 800 E-tec, you won't be disappointed with the 850. In my humble opinion, the Gen-4 handles and rides better than the 800. The suspension feels more balanced from front to rear. It is peppier and does pull very smooth. I won't say anymore because I just don't have many miles on it.
Until tomorrow's ride, good night.

Scranton1 reacted to scorpionbowl in A few days around Saguenay (12/28-1/1/17)
Summarizing what happens on this trip. Taking it day by day, no real plan...
Day 1: Leave trail 16 to 83. Head east on mostly garbage...rough and low snow until the ski area (aka relais spandex). There it is freshly groomed but still low snow. Local 21 looks great, didn't take it. Groomer comes out from St Felix and I'm second tracks and it's perfect. Local 22 looks good, didn't take it. Perfection to 383 (eternity), it is freshly groomed, didn't take it. Continued perfection to 383 west, it's freshly groomed, didn't take it. Continued down 83 to the 301, it's freshly groomed, didn't take it. Continued down the Claremont express, the south side was groomed the day before, 4" powder, but smooth. Just made it to Claremont for first gas at 103 miles, light was on for a while. Noticed the skidoo dealer moved, maybe this isn't news? Snow is thinner here, but fine. Doubled back to 383 west. On the 383, groomer stopped quick, but it was smooth with 6" powder. Took the 22, same conditions, then gassed at St Felix. Took 83 west to 21, but didn't take it. Back at relais spandex the groomer came through most of the way back to the city. Nice easy run, 200 miles. Heading to Valinouet tomorrow, by truck.
