PISTON LAKE CRUISER got a reaction from iceman in Roberval Club
Depends where the trail goes. You can sign/stake bush and rail trails early but you can't always do that with farm land. The corn crop on my field that the trail crosses didn't come off until November 13th and then the field had to be plowed after corn was finished.

Some that are open may close very early in the evening especially in the early part of the week. When you ask if the restaurant is open also ask the hours.

PISTON LAKE CRUISER got a reaction from MrGutz in Clubs and FCMQ?
In Ontario the clubs cannot open trails until the individual clubs' trail boss signs off and sends the form in saying that all required signage is in place. As mentioned its liability protection.

PISTON LAKE CRUISER got a reaction from Fuse6 in Gaspe trip plan help
Thats a great itinerary Fuse 6. Big day mileages but sounds like thats what the guys are into. Personally I'd take more time the day up on the top side crossing the mountains as it is the most scenic. I would agree with bypassing Perce Rock. If you've never seen it I guess its OK but in my opinion its a long way in and out to see a rock with a hole in it and depending on the weather you may not see it anyway. I'd rather see it in the summer.

Exactly what I thought when I read the post above. Lac Faillon used to be a place our group looked forward to staying at. Tough to keep good employees in seasonal businesses.

We left the Suburban and trailer in that same parking lot on our first ever Quebec/ Gaspe (1996) and second trip we made to Gaspe. That parking lot was probably one of the sketchiest of any we have parked at over the years. It looked like it should be OK right across from the motel but was a good distance away. We pulled the main ignition relay out of the fuse panel under the hood and parked truck to snowbank. Had no issues but felt more at ease when riding having performed those little prevention items before leaving.

PISTON LAKE CRUISER got a reaction from 800R MXZ X in February Trip
If you are considering staying in Matagami there is very limited if any accomodations there since the hotel burned down a couple of years ago. Also there is no fuel between Chibougamau and Pemonca. I believe it is about 240 km. Awesome trip otherwise. Just be sure to make all your reservations early.

I have always felt safe leaving our truck/trailer at various hotels in Quebec but wouldn't feel safe leaving my truck & trailer there over one or more nights. Empty parking area with no lighting in a rural setting. JMHO.

If anyone wants to try this, it worked for me on another forum, but who knows if that will solve the problems here. I'm sure it's different for every browser and operating system, so you may have to do things different. I'm using the latest Chrome on Windows 11.
If you go up to the URL section at the top, you'll see "Not secure". Left-click on it and select "Site settings", a new tab will appear as shown below. Select "Privacy and security". Scroll down to "insecure content" and set it "Allow". I also did this for "pop-ups and redirects" and "intrusive ads" for the heck of it. Note that this only effects quebecrider and none of the other sites you visit.
