Fuse6 got a reaction from Jackstraw in gaspe trip, what are good km days?
This is the route we do after taking suggestions from Quebec Rider veterans for several years.
5 days from Mont Joli, 6 days if want to start in RDL.
Your missing out not doing the north shore from Cap Chat to Mont St Pierre.
On the south shore between Chandler and New Richmond is the least desirable part of loop. Flat, not much to see.
The 587S (green trail) from south of the Albertville clubhouse down to Pointe a La Croix is real nice ride vs taking the trail 5.
Perce Rock is low on my priority list if your short of time.

Men’s trip we do 300-330 km. Works perfect for five day trip.
Lot of the Gaspe isn’t fast riding due to the terrain and scenery which makes it such a great trip.
Especially in Feb with shorter days if you try doing more you will end your day in the dark. First trip you will be doing more stopping for pictures etc.
Pick your starting point:
Riviere du loup
Mont Joli
Matane
then people can make suggestions for hotels. Also how many days you have available to ride.

Nice posts. If I could ask a favor of Mrs Iceman. could you please refrain from using the term " LOVER" in your post? I am trying to eat my breakfast and I am having trouble keeping it down with that image in my mind. Thanks in advance. 800Steve

Fuse6 reacted to smclelan in Gaspe loop - Hotel recommendations
The Grande Nature is a great spot if you have a large group, great bar/pub with a view of the mountains.
I see a new spot in Ste Adelme right behind the gas and relais, all drive up rooms.

Fuse6 got a reaction from Snobeeler in Shuttle Cost Forestville to Ragueneau?
Posted by NORTHBOUND last March
Hopefully by next year the transport will not be needed, but if it is, this is what we found, today. We were headed west from sept isle. Called from Baie Comeau last night. Called the guy in Pointe-aux-outardes, seemed most logistical. He owns the Petro Canada gas station in that town and has 2 rollback trucks. Nice guy named Thomas. We told him we would get into town at 9am. Trail goes right into town. He dropped us at a side road crossing at Columbier. But he is flexible. He could have picked us up in Baie Comeau or dropped us in Forestville. But he charges by the hour, so shorter is better. He charged us 135 plus tax. His rate is 100 per hour.
All 3 of the guys on the poster are independent. Didn't check with the others. This guy seemed reasonable and was easy to work with.

Fuse6 got a reaction from PLAYHARD in Gaspesiana growing
Surprised to see an expansion like that with the new (few years old) Quality Inn right there in Mont Joli. Would think there would be a surplus of hotel rooms in that town.
Obviously with that type of capital expenditure there must be demand.

Fuse6 got a reaction from PLAYHARD in Renovations at Universal
On QUEBEC RIDER Facebook group Groomer posted a link to highway webcams throughout the Gaspe. I didn’t notice how far west they came if RDL is an option.

Fuse6 got a reaction from PLAYHARD in Map Planning Tip
Most of you may already know this about how to clean up the map after you plan your route but l just discovered it today by accident.
In Service menu had ACCOMMODATIONS box checked. Did the planned route selecting places wanted to stay at.

After completing plan went back into Services menu and UNCHECKED the Accommodations box.

Map is then cleaned up and only shows hotels you plan to stay at.

Fuse6 got a reaction from PLAYHARD in Mont Valin Lodging
Northern New Brunswick would be a likely option for January. Start from Edmunston, head north to Moose Valley then east to Christmas Mountains and Bathurst.

Fuse6 got a reaction from PLAYHARD in Resort advice appreciated
Did you try Camp Taureau.
Just north of Lac Taureau lodge. Not near as fancy as the others places. Main lodge is nice, has some rooms or there is cottages. Cottages are older, fairly basic, have wood fireplaces so still a good place to stay.

Fuse6 got a reaction from PLAYHARD in Val-D’or vs RDL vs Mt.Valin
How many days do you want to ride from same location?

Fuse6 got a reaction from PLAYHARD in Val-D’or vs RDL vs Mt.Valin
We day tripped out of Val’dor one year. That area is mainly flat and straight , not much scenery.
Go to YouTube and search: SLEDADDICZ
They posted some good videos of riding Val’dor and western Quebec last winter. From them you can get a good feel for the area.
For day tripping from one location l would suggest Mont Laurier and the area to the north. There is hotels in town but the best idea is to stay at Rabaska or Mekoos Lodge, both about 45 minute drive north of Mont Laurier. From the lodges good options for day loops and you can run the loops to the north up to Fer Cheval and 100 du Lac lodges for lunch. Have Devils Mountain and Chute du Windigo to ride to. The whole area is scenic rolling winding trails, faster running on the northern loops. Mont Laurier would be your closest drive from PA also. No way l would drive the extra hours to ride Val’dor.
