GSX800 reacted to Fuse6 in looking for good trip plan
I would suggest starting at Quebec City at the Double Tree by Hilton. Shorter drive for you and can make a great 4-5 day loop from here. Beautiful ride from here up the #23 to either Saguenay or Lac St Jean.
Can give hotel suggestions if this starting point is of interest.

Awesome trip for you and your wife. As much fun as we have on our annual “boys” trip, nothing beats riding with your wife.

Awesome ride. Thank you for sharing. Seems a little weird to see many familiar places without snow.

Tourist walked into a Chinese curio shop in San Francisco.
While looking around at the exotic merchandise, he noticed a very lifelike, life-sized,
bronze statue of a rat. It had no price tag, but was so incredibly striking the tourist
decided he must have it. He took it to the old shop owner and asked, "How much for
the bronze rat?”
"Ahhh, you have chosen wisely! It is $12 for the rat and $100 for the story," said
the wise old Chinaman.
The tourist quickly pulled out twelve dollars and handed it to the shop owner. "I'll
just take the rat, you can keep the story.”
As he walked down the street carrying his bronze rat, the tourist noticed that a few
real rats had crawled out of the alleys and sewers and had begun following him
down the street. This was a bit disconcerting so he began walking a bit faster.
A couple blocks later he looked behind him and saw to his horror the herd of rats
behind him had grown to hundreds, and they began squealing.
Sweating now, the tourist began to trot toward San Francisco Bay.
Again, after a couple blocks, he looked around only to discover that the rats now
numbered in the MILLIONS, and were squealing and coming toward him faster
and faster.
Terrified, he ran to the edge of the Bay and threw the bronze rat as far as he could
into the Bay.
Amazingly, the millions of rats all jumped into the Bay after the bronze rat and
were all drowned.
The man walked back to the curio shop in Chinatown. "Ahhh," said the owner,
"You come back for story?”
"No sir," said the man. "I came back to see if you have a bronze Democrat.”

A little old man shuffled slowly into an ice cream parlor and pulled himself slowly, painfully, up onto a stool... After catching his breath, he ordered a banana split.
The waitress asked kindly, 'Crushed nuts?'
'No,' he replied, 'Arthritis.'

If the garage is safe enough for a 1967 corvette, then it’s plenty safe for a few pieces of paper!

About Mont Laurier - if you like to stay at the Comfort Inn. We like to start there as it is an easy drive for us. Last winter I was told that on the weekends there was a minimum two night stay. The woman I spoke with said they weren’t happy about it, but that is what the new management wanted. So avoid a weekend night if you are passing through or starting there.

I’m starting to look at the map here and there now. At this point undecided. Go west? Would like to see if 63 reopens where it has been closed for logging the past two years. Head north? Would like to see if there will be gas again between Chibougamau and LaDore or get the group (6) to agree to carry gas. Current saddlebag configurations on all but my sled won’t accommodate a linq gas caddy. Head east to Lac Saint Jean area? Really like the area north of the lake. Wouldn’t mind a couple day’s riding loops before moving on.
Since we are 6 guys and sometimes 7, we make reservations for an early February trip usually by end of November.

Yes it's time to plan. We are starting on the west side and going north on 95 then south to La Dore and then west to Mont Laurie and find away back to the truck. Sounds easy. Lol.

I have both a 900 NA and a 900T (150 Hp). The 900 NA is definitely quieter. The turbos are definitely more throaty. The 900R turbos are even slightly more. I can’t comment on the 130. I would expect they are similar to the 150. By no means are the turbos loud.

Unfortunately it is. Our son already graduated from college with no student loans. I missed a potential payday there. I was thinking I should stop paying my bills and let my credit go in the dumps in case I wanted to get financing.

That is awesome. Hmm, I have a 2018 600 ACE and a 1970 12/3 in my garage? Problem - I don’t have the talent to duplicate that! Great job!

GSX800 reacted to doo4adoo in Quick day run
Looking at all these other late season reports lately motivated me to call in sick and head out. Trailered up to the no-tell - motel in Ste Anne du lac Tuesday night. I think we were the only ones there. At Breakfast yesterday morning they said the past weekend was packed in town with rigs. Well I know why. It was all purple in the last 2 days. We finally got out about 9:30 and west north. For most of the way up we were first tracks after 20 mile out after we passed a group of 5. First stop was Fer Cheval. Put a few litres in to be safe and went in for a coffee. No food or rooms anymore this winter. Off we go to the wild Town of Parent for lunch. Our lucky? day as the Central was open. apparently its just from Wednesdays on in the week. Not sure if this is seasonal or not. Enjoyed our stay but time to head back to the truck. Wanted to take the scenic route by 100 Lacs or Notawissi but my buddy was pukking a few times on the way up trip so i thought best to go back on the quicker route. There is the road section of about 6 miles that had snow on it. Apparently with half loads they are not working at the moment. Late in the day we got significant wet snow squalls as we hoped on the water where the Barrage Mitchinamecus. Thank goodness for little red pickets here and on the lake as visibility was limited. Overall a great day with 227 miles showing for me. My friend not as great but if you're going to be sick better riding than at home.
Few pic's of the day. Is it the last run, hard to say. Still mid winter conditions up there and more snow coming Saturday. Stay tuned.
