snowfarmer
Took the wife on her first tour of the western side.We left North Bay Ontario and took the 102q to Temiscaming. This trail is part plowed logging road (@15 miles)and groomed trail.Luckly we left on a sunday and over the weekend they got a few inchs of snow and the road had not been plowed yet. The club president told me this trail only gets groomed a couple of times a year due to low traffic and how long it takes to get groomers to the trail.Interesting enough the club in Temiscaming comes over into the Ontario side and grooms about 8 miles of trail to the Jocko river which has no bridge. Even though the the trail says 102Q and your in Ontario the GPS says it PQ 63 to where its groomed.Quebec has claimed a little of Ontario(a good thing) 102 Q over looking Temiscaming.Rode to La Bannik for the night. This is a great place as many of you know .13 cabins ,heated garage , floors are heated in the cabins.Great food!Next morning Headed to La Sarre on 63/83 .All groomed up perfect. Not sure if this was a Bobcat or a Lynx he just moved off the trail and hung out! Ran into Florida Snowman and the boys. In early. Next day 93 to 307 to 83 to Val-d'Or. Had lunch at this place .Rapide des Preissac. Home cooking great people.Last day Val-D'or back to the truck in North Bay. via 309/63. The trails in the west seemed to be groomed every morning. We ran into at least 3 groomers a day!One operator told me they will be grooming at least 3 more weeks in his area. The west never lets you down. Edited March 1, 2014 by snowfarmer

MXZ700RIDER
wow, They were the flattest groomed trails I have ever seen. Must have been a blast to ride. What area is that again?
Trailblazer
That was a Linx David, Linx's have pointy tipped ears and are much more furrier than a Bobcat, Bobcat has short tan fur and are more aggressive, put it thus way you would not have had the chance for that picture. Love those Abitabi trails, flat, wide and fast. Glad to hear you had a good run with your wife.

mccaffrey
Very nice, the last trip I took before my operation was west, that opened my eyes up for rides next year. I ran into a lynx 2 year ago on the trail, we had a stare down for 5 mins to see who was going to move first, that seemed like for ever, something I will never forget. Next year David (trip Planning). New sled in the works. Pat
