nowa
Just crossed border and headed north. Is St Raymond open? Connected to Latuqe? Chicoutimi?? Or just continue to the casino?

MrGutz
Just back from The Saguenay and would recommend the Casino/Sag/Valin/ Still watch out for Water Crossings and Unbroken Trails. Groomers are just getting out there. GutZ
mikerider
Sledmagazine.com lists trail conditions and for what it is worth, Riviere du Loup is reporting best trail conditions of all the regions. I just don't know how accurate it is. mike

markusvt
From their FB page: Jan 4th, Path: St-Raymond toward st-Basile open. The trail is open until line of hydro at the limit of the territory of cmsr. A lot of branches out of the ground in the new section of this trail. Be careful. The trail is beautiful.*** Today, Monday 4 January **** The Zamboni will be in the way during the day, to go cut the branches in order to broaden the path. Jan 2nd, Trail #73 of the pot to the jeannotte (towards the tuque) trail open.On the roads of sépaq it's beautiful, the trails in the forest are very passable but there may be rocks and a few places where the water holes are not completely frozen.Great outing with the Zamboni, there's more than a foot of snow in the jeannotte. The only problem is the trail that goes from rap city centre to the pot. Is still a lack of snow... Section of path always closed Jan 1st, Trail #23 of the stage: open from the relais st-Raymond By Contrast:The First 20 km from the relais st-Raymond in the direction of the stage are very maganés, lack of snow and a lot of rocks... December 31, Followed condition of path: Lake Sergeant (Mountain): Really not enough snow, see photo Facebook, need a good 6 inches again. We put a ribbon for close the mountain.St-Basile, the zamboni has turned at the beginning of the new trail, not enough snow, especially with the passage of the shovel. To go to air hammer, it's water and the mud, need cold (and snow too.) MrGutz
You should have no problems getting in or out, plenty of snow, it maybe a little bumpy close to town. GutZ

nowa
Left the casino and trails were good. 9 miles in we pass a groomer, 5 miles later another groomer! Everything is flat, fast and freshly groomed. Local 54, TQ3 all the way to TQ83. We stayed on 3 to check out the clubhouse but it was closed, still early season up here. Using the GPS we take a local trail that cuts through back to TQ 83 and it's on! Double groomed and fast! I guess that's why Bill calls this the Claremont express! 5 Miles before TQ383 where the Saguenay club takes over it is bumpy but once at 383 it's fresh tracks again! Get to a small bridge and the groomer turns around from there it was bumpy for a while not horrible. Find another relay that is open so decide to eat and rehydrate and what do we see another groomer!! From there to the Delta it got Thinner as we went but was 100% froze up and completely passable do not hesitate if you're thinking about coming up. Today were headed for Valins, not sure where we will end up tonight. Overall conditions are much better than we had hoped for.

Had an issue with my starter yesterday morning so wasted most of the day getting it replaced and ended up at the Hotel Universal. Headed across 93 and up to Onatchiway. Thin but passable down low but very good after that!! Snowed all day so far!! Spotted a few Sticker too!
