    FYI.
I use an older inactive iPhone 8 I have music on for a BT source.
Apple OS allows you to chose preprogrammed "equalizer" settings for music. These speakers I have being so small benefit from the "treble reducer" setting. Helps a lot.
    May help someone.....

Wow good to know. I took the Pelchat trail on Friday to Les Escoumins.  One of my favorite trails. I'll consider myself lucky this time.

Not to sound like a "Debbie Downer" but I'm glad a put Mt Valin area on the back burner some years back. With all the increased traffic there in years and now this I can't say I miss the area or care to go back. I know the area serves it's purpose early and late but they can keep it.

Just got back last night from this spur of the moment loop.  As you said everything was absolutely perfect and no traffic anywhere.  Locals on the Southern end of the loop tell me they got 2 more weeks before things start to close down.  Most areas have 4-5 feet of snow.  Some of the trail signs just poking through the snow its so deep.  It pretty much snowed non-stop since last Wednesday.  Saw the sun for 15 minutes yesterday.

Actually I'm not opposed to riding up there in big storms.  We would've had to drive truck back in it!  Took us 10 hours last time instead of the normal 5 hours.  They shut every highway down so we had to take back-ass country roads all the way to NY in whiteout conditions.
I'm told the perch is from the locals ice fishing and it's only served on Fridays for some reason.  But its excellent, worth trying!  Enjoy your trip!

We got the same line of questioning at the border.  Looks like you stopped at the Sunoco gas station at the Champlain exit.  Best chicken ever.  If you get there on a Friday they have fresh perch too.
We did a 750 mile loop around Lac St Jean.  Started in Beaupre, drove out of the rain on Thursday. Most trails were perfect but some sloppy due to all the snow they got.  We were winging it too, no issues.  Although the Casino in La Malbaie was closed which we didn't know until we were already checked in.  For the most part places were ignoring the vaccine passport requirement to eat which was refreshing.  One place though refused to serve us because we didn't have the correct app that shows a specific QR code. Apparently Canadians use a different app than the ArriveCAN app we had to use.  I probably looked annoyed and started getting dressed to leave when the manager came over and told us to calm down they would serve us.  Just so nuts up there with the mandates.  Definitely a different vibe than in the US.  The more remote you got the less people seemed to care about masks, etc.
Anyway, we ended our trip a day early because of the storm that was coming.  Been there done that before.

I got gas yesterday at an Irving in Clermont. It’s just past the IGA. Need to ride the sidewalk for a bit but not bad.

Did a quick two day loop this weekend.  Trails were mint the whole way.  Got a little thin towards the North but still very good.  Saturday was 34F all day which was a bit odd for January but the trails stayed together.  Its nice that they groom to the top of the old NORAD site in Mont-Apica now.

Well... its my secret parking spot but since we are all friends here I'll spill the beans.  The parking spot is at the end of the local orange trail where the green way point is.  Its somehow associated with the owners of Motel Charley which is the motel icon shown near it.  Its a 5 min drive from the parking spot.  Great place to stay, cheap, and they sell passes, plus the owner (Joanne) is a snowmobiler, so she's good for intel.  The parking spot is $10/day per truck.  Its secure and the people that run it live right there.  A lot of the locals in the area use this spot too.  Been going here on and off over the last 10 years.  Its also a great starting point because you are quickly into the mountains and you're hitting the good stuff right away.  Its also a great last minute place to launch from because there are a bunch of motels in the area in case Motel Charley is booked. Or just drive directly to the parking spot and go.  Below is the exact location.  GPS says 5 hours from Lake George but its usually closer to 6 with all the stops.  If your headed toward Lake-Saint-Jean its as good or better than starting from St. Raymond.
