zeusand reacted to PLAYHARD in Convoy to Ottawa
That “horse-trampled” claim has since received substantial push back by the Ottawa Police, who wrote: “We hear your concern for people on the ground after the horses dispersed a crowd. Anyone who fell got up and walked away. And any protesters who subsequently died as a result of horse-trampling have been reclassified as Covid19 victims.”

zeusand reacted to towing in Joliette/St-Zenon/Mattawin north-south loop video ride report March 13, 2022
Here our last ride, Sunday March 13, 2022.
Time flies! we are already at mid march and having a very good snow cover with a fully operational trail network in my area, it was a perfect timing to ride this Lanaudière/Mauricie 280 miles loop, a classic one day ride for us that we had not did yet this season.
Here is a first video of the ride from St-Thomas to the Cabanon in St-Zénon
And here a second one from Cabanon to Marineau in Trois-Rives (Mattawin) where we stop for lunch at 1:15pm with 155 miles done
We took a good lunch break at Marineau and headed back south. Very good conditions up to the St-Maurice river which was also very nice and fast
There was a kite kite festival in Grande-Pile on the St-Maurice river
From Lac à la Tortue to Gabelle crossing the trail was bumpy but we met 2 groomers there who were at work
Gabelle crossing was good and coming back to the west the fields were very windy and there was a lot of loose powder on the trail which slowed our pace a bit. We met Berthier's dozer on #3 trail who gave us a much appreciated last break
And here is a last video of our afternoon.
I don't know what mother nature have for us ahead for the next days but at least the snow cover for the date is excellent!!! It's the time of the year that some outfitters will begin to shutdown some services so just do your homeworks before the ride depending where you go. I know Kanawata just closed the kitchen and accomodation but gaz still available. Repos is still fully operational up to next weekend at least...

zeusand reacted to iceman in Ender Spring Fling 22’
20 March Sunday
After a painful wait these last few weeks, watching the Meltdown commence at home. I am trading in my 12 wheeler for my snowmobile. We have regrouped and waited it out due to commitments on all sides we had no choice. But we got the band back together all three of us. Playhard is back with me and we got none other than NHmoose back in la belle province. So great to see John. Playhard arrived at 6:15 chez ice. Made quick work of loading my gear. Pinned the trailer I had prepositioned Saturday for launch today from home, All locked and loaded. Playhard visited with Caro and the kids while I ate as many as i could of the “Baby Arm” chicken tenders playhard smuggled in from Champlain on the other side..Damn good . Time to Roll, said goodbye to Mrs Ice. I took the wheel enough hours for him. Rain on off alll day in Shawinigan yesterday and most of today....Wet all the way to just near Levis now snowing. Not white knuckle but a few iffy spots for sure. Backed it way down compared to if i was seeing a dry black trail. We landed in RDL late at 10:30. NHmoose already arrived and did recon checking some trailheads. All good here its golden 2 more weeks easy I do believe. After that still will be good but I doubt grooming will continue. We are headed east.

It's so great that you are taking your son. You will have memories that will last forever. I personally have thousands as my youngest son and I have been riding in Quebec since 2006. We try to get there twice a year. Only once this year but it was for 10 days. Lots of miles.
Hopefully your boy wil have the time to go as he gets busier in his life. Some times he may need some help but that's what dad is for. The bond you make doing this sport is like nothing else.
I have a older son and it's just as much fun but his time is limited. Don't get me wrong but it is really interesting when we go as a group.
Anyway enjoy your time together and stay safe.

Ha! it's a small world! We had our room toward the left of the motel. It's the same for me, I had a small Iceman team sticker on my old yammy but I not installed any on the brp. What you wrote make me realize how close we were to meet that moose. We fueled up at La Cache past 12:30 and passed the dozer within the first mile from there that was just beginning his return toward St-Paulin. We stopped a bit later on the side of the trail for lunch and also at this heated relay farther so we were ahead of you but probably not that much.
We arrived at Nanook motel early around 4:00 I think. Here a sunset shot took later from our room

Awesome report thanks for sharing.
what a trip so far...
There is a reason you were the only sleds to go to La Cache in that storm. You were the only ones crazy enough within riding distance of La Cache.
if its snowing bad in New Richmond, double that and that’s how hard its snowing up the 595.
What an adventure. My PSRD (post ride stress disorder) is being triggered.

La Cache has great people...never stayed but I had the grand tour and I will stay there at some point. They got big plans to expand that will be quite a place when they get it done. Nothing like it. Strategically place where it is it will continue to do well.
