  1. I heard 40cm followed by perfect grooming.
  2. Ran through your back yard today Mike, from Cabano to Pont Rouge. Snow was very soft, burned lots of gas. Close to Quebec City there are certainly some thinner sections. That said, we were sledding on a sunny day, how bad could it be? Breakfast in Tourville. http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_02/20230216_095002.thumb.jpg.9264b4056b84e900b6dc95489217f4c7.jpg
  3. I will be running slightly ahead of Andy. I will let you know Chris.
  4. That has been an option for quite some time. I always route in miles, easier for me plan.
  5. Great report. Looks like you had a beautiful day to ride
  6. Mike, we will be passing through your area in the rain tomorrow. We are at the Royal in Cabano tonight, breakfast at Tourville then to Pont Rouge on the other side of the river tomorrow night. We will be coming back through in about 6-7 days.
  7. Excellent report and pictures, thanks for sharing.
  8. Definitely pick them up in Monteal, they are not always the best in Chibougamau!! LOL
  9. I was lucky enough to be going through there one year when they had the ice sculptures, very impressive. Great report as always
  10. La Maison Verte I have heard good things about, it is right there across the road from the Inter-Provincial. 418 788 2342 That said, if you can get another room at the Inter-Provincial they do have a hot tub and sauna!
  11. Do you suppose you could pack enough beer to go from La Dore to Chibougamau?
  12. Conditions for the whole area look good as of right now.
  13. Hopefully it can be kept open for the rest of this season. It is concerning where the speed limit is emphasized. Next year the new trail will be completed on that section and hopefully will not have landowner issues.
  14. I did not know you could do that. Thanks.
  15. Could be trouble from drifts as well. There are sections that get some wind.
  16. Decided to do a quick short loop in the Gaspe last weekend with my better half, and that it certainly was a short one. Plans were to leave early Friday morning from Point a la Croix and go to Grande Nature. Started early Friday morning by losing my wallet. Searched high and low in the room, bags, back out to the bar, even up to the hot tub. No luck. Had to call and cancel debit and credit cards. Frustrated now plus becoming to later start, went out to start the sleds and the 900 T was dead RRRRR! Took the bags off got the booster pack out, still no go. Scratched my head, then tried the key fob off the 600.... everything starts. OMG mixed up the key fobs! 10:30 we start out and temperatures are dropping like a stone and the wind is strong. Made it to the cable bridge all is good. Onwards to Groomers Clubhouse. We land there and Kelly says she is very cold, wind has got considerably stronger and visibility had decreased. All good, we change plans and off to the Select in Amqui. By the time we get there we were hitting serious white out conditions in the fields and the wind was biting cold. Likely 30 sleds at the Select Friday night. Saturday morning it appear all 30 sleds stayed at to weather out the cold and wind. Saturday consisted of eating, drinking, playing pool, hot tubs, and swimming pools for sledders. Plus found my missing wallet in my trunk bag! A great day. All highways in and out of Amqui except the Matepedia route were blocked and closed because of visibility. Sunday we headed back to the truck on some groomed trails and some ready for grooming that were drifted bad. Big trip, about 180 miles! LOL A nice relaxing weekend that will be a great memory and laughs for a long time. A few pics of our adventure.
  17. Awesome to be out riding with your father!! Hope you have a fantastic week.
  18. I was getting the same message last week, rebooted the tablet and it seem to come out of it.
  19. Never found this to be a sport for saving money LOL The best gear always costs more. I have been using an Oxygen since they came out and really like it. Like mentioned above you can not talk or hear anyone with the shield closed. However that just proves it has an excellent seal.
  20. One of my favorite red wine, along with Arrogant Frog!
  21. The Oxygen helmets are on sale now for 30% off.
  22. Three of us are going through Fallion in a little over 2 wks. When we made ghe reservations they told us that was the meal situation. Had there been something else in the area we likely would have taken it. One of the bonuses of staying at outfitters for me is having a good meal.
  23. The old expression about the low windshield "if you want to look cool, your going to be cool". LOL An extra vest for your chest and might not hurt to have a set of gauntlets in your bag. Make sure you get a picture sitting on your sled in front of the big Chibougamau sign. Have a great trip, good luck.
