Enjoy Shane!  I am 36 and still enjoy every ride with my dad.  We put on just about every mile together every year as we are each others favorite riding partners!!!  We often sit and crack up about all the fun rides and crazy moments over the years.  Only difference now I like to pay for everything..
Your son will forever remember these moments and all the fun rides through the years, not to mention all the sleds and working on them together.  Keep in touch! Ride safe!

    Day 6:  Wednesday Jan 18th
The plan for today was to sleep in & wake up without the alarm clock.  Got up to 22*F & overcast skies.  Had breakfast & suited up.  Pulled out on the sleds at 10:30am.   Took 373N over the top of LSJ & got on 93.  Continued south to Sainte-Monique & got onto 367.  Went by the old ScoobyRaid (Relais Mont Vilain) to see how it looks these days.  They have put in some much needed capital $$$ improvements there.  Continued on 367 & crossed the Saguenay at Shipshaw.  Decided to go to the Delta for the night so we could check up on Bill & see how he's doing after this past mondays mishap.  We spent an hour with Juliedele & Bill on the sofa in the lobby of the Delta.  He's one tough dude!  No hospital for Bill.  He's sore & a little bruised but will recover quickly.  Lucky he had his Tek Vest on!  I won't ride a sled without mine on.  Had a good dinner & crashed out in the incredibly comfortable beds.  Nice easy day.

I recently learned of a feature on the iPhone that all iPhone users should take advantage of, ESPECIALLY if you have a pre-existing condition of ANY TYPE!  It's FREE!  We have found it very useful in the volunteer fire/rescue service.
The app is already on your iPhone and it costs NOTHING!  It is one of the icons on one of your home screens right from Apple.  The icon is called Health and is a white square with a red heart in it.  Click on it and find the app you want to complete called MEDICAL ID.  If you open the app and fill it out with all of your information it could save your life.  The app can be opened EVEN IF THE PHONE IS LOCKED!  When you click your phone's home button and it brings up the pad for you to enter your password, you will notice on the bottom left the word EMERGENCY.  Touch that and it brings up the dial pad to call 911, once you have filled out the MEDICAL ID information it will show as *Medical ID on the bottom left of your screen.  First responders or friends can touch where it says *Medical ID and all of the information you entered comes up.  I have found that sometimes opening it once all of your information will not appear, simply touch DONE in the top right and re-open and everything is there.  First responders are now becoming aware of this app and your riding partners should know about it as well.
If you have any questions please let me know and I will try and help anyway I can.  Have a GREAT RIDE!

Irving Berlin aka  IB.  .  Irving wrote over 100 songs.  White Christmas, Alexander's Rag Time Band, Easter Parade, GOD Bless America, Sister's, which should be your song now that you have 2 of them LOL and "Blue Skies smiling at me, nothing but blue skies do I see".  A list of his songs follows.  He lived to be 100 and had a summer place very close to where I was brought up.  Berlin's place was not far from the the famous  diamond cutter Lazare Kaplan.  Kaplan was a gentleman dairy farmer on the weekends, he had someone doing the work.  He shipped his milk to the plant my father managed.  History lesson for today is finished. Class dismissed.

A side bar for those who have an 850.
On our Christmas trip, the 850 seemed like it was getting decent gas mileage.  I know we don't buy these for mileage but I'm always curious how far will a tank bring me.  This year I purchased the BRP 15 liter aux Lynk tank.  So today I decided to ride until I ran out of gas.  The St Raymond to Chicoutimi is a good test area.
This morning we topped off both sleds.  At Mt Apica with 118 miles so far, we put $30 (23 liters) in Sandi's 1200.  Nothing in mine.  I've got three bars on the gauge, 60 miles to the Sag in Chicoutimi and 15 liters for back up.
At 147 miles, the low gas light comes on.  OK, lets see how many miles the warning light gives me.  157 miles and still running.  167 still going.  We hit the intersection with 83 and there is now 170 miles on the tank.  8 clicks or 5 miles to Chicoutimi and the gas station.  Will the 850 make it.  I will admit I'm now a little light on the throttle.  I can see the Ultramar.  I pull in with 175 miles on the odometer.  Wow!  It made it.
I start pumping.  The liters are spinning away.  20 liters, 25, 30 pump pump click.  I squeeze in the last little bit to top it off.  35 liters at the pump.  There it is.  I never thought it would make it.
We weren't screaming by any means today but it was a typical day on Quebec trails.  Sleds and riding vary from day to day but this I feel is a decent benchmark.

This is a continuation of trip two from St Raymond.
We start up 23 and wow!  The groomer did just come down here.  The trail has had a little time to set up and it is smooooth with a dusting.  This is beautiful.  Now I have to pay attention otherwise Sandi is gone.  I like to look around a little but if I don't watch Sandi, she will be out of sight.  On a trail like this, sometimes she gets on a mission and goes.
This is snowmobiling at its best.  Nice temperature, clear sky, fresh groomed trail, no traffic.  What could be better?  We get to the intersection with 368 and turn right.  Oh this is even better.  Such a nice trail with the gentle curves and rolling terrain.  Keep on riding.  This trail keeps getting better and better.  As we get close to the RJL station, the groomer tracks are getting fresher.  No snowmobile tracks ahead of us now.  Yep.  There is the grooomer.  He is making a left towards the RJL.  We stay on 368.  Not quite as nice but we are happy with what we had.  This really isn't bad.  The groomer had probably come out this way this morning.  A little drifting here and there but pretty smooth.
We hit 83 turn left and run the last few miles to Chicoutimi.  What a nice day.  The ride just kept getting better and better.  We have three days of riding ahead of us.  Lets hope they turn out as good.
