Saguenay Bill
I just received word that the Saguenay Club will have all of their trails open, groomed and trails signs up this weekend. The conflict they had with a couple of the farmers has been settled. I plan on heading up this coming Wednesday. I'll start posting what I find starting Thursday. markusvt
Hope it picks up a bit. A week ago before the rain, heading out of the HI was VERY, VERY, VERY thin. Rideable, well.... Flyin Brian
Brian, let me know where you end up going...........our group is looking for a place to ride mid week throughy the weekend......thanks Gary Say hi to John Buttpaste R. Unfortunaly John is the Buttpaste sledder not going but I'll let him know. We normally try to start in St. Foye (around the Quebec airport) and head north to the HI from there but if we have to drive straight to Jonquiere we're prepared to do that. I'll try to post when we get up there.

Flyin Brian
Thats what I got in mind, drive to st foy, and then trailer to red roof if needed, heading up wed to scout around for rest of group coming thurs We're not leaving until Thursday afternoon. Where is the Red Roof Inn? We normally stay at the Howard Johnson, right down the street from the Hotel Quebec Inn in St. Foye. Reasonably priced and the trail is right behind the hotel. From there we usually head 3 East and depending on how we feel we'll either go up through L'Etape or keep going on 3 to 83 north to the HI. The second to last day we go from the HI to the Casino Charleviox so it leaves us about 125 miles to the truck in St. Foye the last morning. Therefore we can make it home at a decent hour. iceman
I believe TQ3 is NOT all open to get you back from charlevoix to st foye. Not sure you can leave at all from st foye. Better be prepared to trailer some. Oh yeah and bring hy fax for jonquiere thin in town. Have not heard of riding up to mt valin from there(the HI) need to trailer to valinouet. I am pretty sure on that. Edited January 9, 2011 by iceman
mad4snow
me and a buddy are planning on comeing up friday night.do we need to plan on trailering to get any good amount of riding or can we ride out of the hotel? we would hate to drive 9hrs to not be able to get around much.or should we just wait another week? markusvt
Red Roof is a location up 175, Stoneham I think, gets you up in elevation to ride, just a parking lot. It is a restuarant that has secured parking, you pay per night to leave your vehicle there
markusvt
Like everyone, we are watching the weather too. For folks thinking it is mid winter in Quebec, you are very wrong. A few pockets of good riding, but they cannot be stitched together yet. Yes, worse than last year so far. Looking at the webcams, looks like no snowbanks in town just yet. Edited January 11, 2011 by markusvt
Greg du Vermont
This was a note from our friend Belle des neiges in Larouche. She is with the UDM Lac St Jean Est club which many QR's have supported. Yes! You'll have alot of fun around here... I went around yesterday and it was great! So everything will be freshly groomed this week... We received around 1 foot of new snow sunday. It was snowing all day sunday. Jonquière (the 2 trails 83 ans 383), Larouche, Héberville, Alma on this side... the trails are great. All open and groomed. On the other side, St-Honoré didn't received snow so the trail between st-honoré and the Mounts isn't good, no snow. St-Nazaire is still closed. Probably nice going up passing by L'Ascension up to tchitogama but not sure. The Parc between l'étape and Héberville was the best trail sunday. It will probably be open between the parc and Bouleaunière this week. This snow was awesome... The season is on again even if it is not cold presently.
