zrtkat reacted to iceman in Parent to St Raymond
Not the fastest ride. But it can be done. Get up and get rolling.
Parent to Wemo usually a fast section
wemo to relais 22 more twisty and opens up closer to relais 22 after passing windigo
relais 22 to La Tuque same thing . Some fast sections some twists
la tuque to st raymond 73 fast run relatively speeking to Riviere Pierre.
Riviere Pierre a St Raymond Railbed.
all depends on traffic and trail conditions.

Today’s update.
“Hello, update this January 16, the trails remain closed for another few hours, volunteers are finishing the signage.
Most of the trails are surfaced, including the one from Lac Bouchette to Lac Edouard, which will be done tomorrow in daylight, so extreme caution!
Note that as long as the trails remain closed, the Club Passe Partout is not responsible for any accidents.”

Thanks (I couldn't react to your post). I guess had I wanted to I could've attached the cradle to the handlebar. Denis has a Montana 700i on his current sled & I saw it when we were riding w/ him last season. That was the motivation for the upgrade.
Hope you guys are doing well!

We never made it to Quebec last winter we had all our reservations, trail permits, we left I pulled out of my driveway looked in my mirror and my tire was leaning out on trailer further investigating found my trailer axle broke.
So I replaced both axles on trailer , electric brakes all set for this winter , we got 2 new sleds ordered hopefully coming in before the early permit deadline.
We got rid of the heavy 4 strokes turbos they where too much for me to handle any more .
It was good hearing from you have not seen any activity on Ontario conditions from you.

Whenever it was taking everyone forever to get the sleds they allowed you to buy it and then fill out the VIN afterwards. They shouldn't stop doing that as who knows with supply chain or just how long it takes to get anything...

That might certainly work, but could be problematic if he were to get stopped.... They are (understandably) very fussy about these permits. Both to ensure every sled on the trail has a paid permit, but also to be the insurance piece is associated with the appropriate sled and owner/rider. I guess in the big cost picture, $90 Canadian is not going to affect a U. S. rider's season that much. Or, so it seems to me. Probably the difference of 2-3 fuel fills. Hopefully the sled comes in on time.🤞

We waved good bye to Natalie at Pourvoirie La Vérendrye, we stayed in a cabin and pre made delicious meals were ready in fridge for us (Jazz cooked up a great breakfast). We were the first tracks up 396 to Louvicourt, gas & lunch at Hotel Royal; then across to Rouyn-Noranda for another great stay at Hotel Albert….a big day for us old riders, 420 km! Thank goodness (and Groomer drivers) that the trails were 10 out of 10.
the Moores had an early morning appointment at the BRP dealer, great service; changed the sock and fuel filter. Warned that the fuel pump was on its way out and to have a Plan B. Spent balance balance of day wondering around town and had a great dinner at Moulin Noir.
Concerned about fuel pump, hoping our stars are aligned and as Austin Power says we also like to live dangerously. Headed north to Restaurant Le Poste for lunch, place was packed and the staff had a hard time keeping up. South to 93, across to Amos and the Atmosphere. Dinner at joccivano Restaurant. Woke to 10 cm of snow fall over night.
Headed north on 396 to Matagami and back down to Motel du Lac in Quévillon. Trails are still in excellent shape, light snow all day.
If you’re thinking about one last ride, don’t be afraid to come to this area.
