Yes, I've noticed that.  Keeps getting warmer!   At home, last night they were calling for 50 degrees on Saturday, now they are calling for 60 degrees here.  I realize the jet stream can make all the difference in the world, but we were to leave Thursday and I have been down this road way too many times in the past and it hasn't worked out.  Hopefully, murphy's law will be in affect and my decision to back out will bring feet of snow to the region and zero rain!!!

Why not just go to a different drop point?

    Hey guys,

Any idea why this section is still showing closed?  Hoping to do a loop up and around on the 17th of Jan this year.

By far my favorite side of the loop.  Especially stopping in Lebel-Sur-Quevillion for lunch!

UPDATE 01/06.....looks like grooming started from Matagami south this am.  Hopefully this opens up.

That trail always seems to open up late

  3. Don’t buy Diva! My wife had them for 2 days on a trip to the Abitibi and we had to go get her a brand new suit at a Yamaha dealer near Ville Marie. Now it was -40 to -50 every morning and most days were high of -20F  but she was not a new rider. We got her a new Snoforce jacket ( the same one the dealers wife used) and a pair of the Yamaha bibs the heaviest ones they make and she as been using the same gear since like 7 years or so. Not a big fan of the Klim either but do not buy Snow Diva

  4. Stayed at Hotel BSP many times, and agree with the above from Don and Mark nice Hotel nice rooms restaurant good and right inside but they don’t really cater to the snowmobilers. Last time or 2 we were there they didn’t sell passes and we needed some and they were no help in finding where we could get them. The last time we were there they wanted me to leave the keys for my truck because they were calling for a big storm. I always disable my truck and chain things up so I wasn’t going for that. They kept insisting so I said ok but they had to sign a paper they were 100% responsible for it...... They said park it over there and keep your keys 😂😂

  5. We have the Scala/Cardo Pack Talk for about 4 years. They work great use them on the sleds, the scooters and the bikes. When it is very cold the batteries dont last all day but we usually charge them up at the lunch stops and they are pretty good then. We have our 2 on older Snoforce modular helmets but others in our group had them on the Oxygen last year

Are you sure you didn’t get that backwards. I personally don’t think the west side holds a candlestick to the east side.

The West side is definitely better in my opinion, the East side down to Quevillon is twisty and keeps jumping the road hard to keep it groomed nice

Ferry alert all sailings cancelled 2/18/19 due to heavy Ice I am happy with our decision to change plans even though it will cut our riding time down 2 days but at least we know we will not be stuck.

    Zrtkat & Crew

Why does it cut the riding time 2 days?

I have ridden there since 1994, haven't seen much change, I think they are using some of the same signs from 94. Maps have always got us home, and with the bonus of the batteries never go dead. GPS takes some of the adventure out of the ride. For the off trail guys its a must, but trail riders can make due with maps,

I have been riding Quebec since '89 and I have seen the markers really fall off. It used to be you almost didn't even need a map just a place you wanted to go and maybe a trail number to follow. When we were riding last week there were times we went 20 miles or more with no markings at all not even a trail number. When you get to a trail intersection now usually the most you will see is a trail number in either direction where there used to be signs pointing to towns with distances and all kinds of signs for Hotels,Restaurants,Gas stations, Dealers etc. If you have experience in Quebec and use the tools available it's not bad but I feel for anyone that has never ridden Quebec. The reasons are easy to see with the fact that it's hard to get volunteers and the ATV clubs are getting bigger and stronger and using their trails in Winter and not really buying snowmobiles but it definitely has changed

We'd been watching (obsessing) over the weather and believed the heavy snow band was passing across the south, so we decided to come up to Kanawata from Shawini yesterday over the park thru Mattawin & Repo and the new MINT go-around that passes Chateau Vert. Definitely no need to take the sanded road and miss such a great ride.

Three of us are leaving Kanawata this morning, 60mi to top gas at Wemo, 60 more to top @ 22, then 60 more to Odanak. That's our story.

Beside! Mario here says: "Snowmobiles... are for snow!"

The trail up through Chateauvert used to travel that way all the time, was always nice. Does anyone remember the trail when Chateauvert was open and when you came up 345 just past Dam Gilardo the trail went right then went up and crossed the Riviere Rats road and bypassed Repos

For sure everyone appreciates the live updates from the trail. For those who don't realize it, they aren't the easiest thing to do after you've been on the trail all day, then you need gas up, unload, check-in, shower, have dinner, catch up on what you've missed during the day, plan the next days ride and you're tired as hell and need to get up early the next day.

For sure don't forget airdrop the pictures pick some good ones put the path back together in your head then try to get it all done on an iphone before you pass out LOL
