smclelan got a reaction from PISTON LAKE CRUISER in May be an issue.............
Certianly is the best long term sustainable option. However this is easiest on crown land, much more of a challenge on private. A trail system crossing a piece of private land could be considered a devaluing attribute.

Establish a permanent trail network. Yes, is easier said then done. But is the only real long term solution. Every journey starts with a single step.

smclelan got a reaction from GSX800 in May be an issue.............
The solution can be as simple as, the government that is getting a huge economic benefit from the snowmobile business offer the effected private landowners a break in property taxes they pay. As for the Zec I believe they are crown land with private management rights, tell them to pound sand.

The farmers, the ZEC’s they all want a piece of the pie. Can’t have a trail system without their land, but I don’t know what the long-term solution is.

There will be a day that they will make sense, however technology has to improve....and it will.
Remember when the first battery hand drills came out, look at them now. Who amongst us doesn't have a few Dewalt or Milwaukee tools?

Back to back major storms but way too late in the season here in New England. As you said it would have been great in mid December…

The foot plus of heavy wet snow we received here in Southern Maine would have made a nice base, in January🙄🤪...
I am very thankful that I installed a standby generator last year. Currently still close to 300,000 customers still without power state wide. Yesterday A friend asked me if I would be taking my machine out... My machine is going to be my Kubota Tractor with plow and front end loader. After the concrete snow on top soft gravel is dealt with, it's on to downed trees. 😀

So basically on a good day ...under the right conditions...you might be able to make it from Cabannon to St Michelle...or half way back...I'm going to open a trail recovery and towing service and get paid to be on the trail..maybe the lynQ accessories will include a removable battery pack so you can carry a couple extra fuel cells

smclelan got a reaction from MrGutz in Mild Winter and BRP
BRP isn't the only Quebec business looking at dismal numbers. There are lots of motels, restaurants, relais, and a hundred other businesses that have had a terrible winter. The area around Quebec City had nothing to speak of for snow. This was the first time in 25 years I haven't sledded in the Gaspe. Trailered to the Quality Inn Matane then on the ferry was it. Sledded 5 days in Baie Comeau, Forestville, Mont Valin area, first time ever to measure snow depth in inches instead of feet. Pretty well every business we stopped at said thanks for coming, and appreciated our business, they all said numbers were terrible.

smclelan got a reaction from nyskidooerinnewhampshire in who will win the chicken dinner on this one ??
Sharp looking sled Chris. As for the upside down shocks, I am sure at some point next winter there will be a spot right after a sharp corner they will be turned the other way!

smclelan reacted to iceman in Club Le Royaume de Motoneige
Posted by club today
I'm writing to you this morning, disheartened and angry.
A snowmobiler has found it clever to go off-trail on private land, a maple sirop producer.
Despite the very visible signs indicating a very fragile right-of-way, this could very well cost us a right-of-way.
The club has invested time and money, only to have it all ruined by a person who disrespected us all!
A search is underway to find him, and he will have to pay for this trespass.

It’s like The Lewis and Clark Expedition.. everything they are seeing is new and wild… completely on their own…and this trip isn’t one where you worry about what you are spending…these sleds will have some patina on them at the end that’s for sure

If I was BRP...I'd be sponsoring these guys and using it as a promotional piece...and would never let these failures out...just put them on another sled...and advertise the durability of the Expedition and BRP quality and community involvement...they missed a great opportunity here....bush wacking over all those trees and brush may have wrapped a smaller branch or twig into a seal...what a great movie or documentary this would have made...and I'm sure we would all be watching it....I've warrantied a lot in 5 decades !!
