We are back at Lac St Jean.  Sandi and I drove up today.  At the border, I've got everything under control.  A few questions by the agent and at the end of the conversation, he hands us our two "random" covid tests.  Oh, I thought Sandi was going to be my lucky charm.  Wrong!

Thank you to the agent.  I hand the tests to Sandi and tell her "Not a big deal."  I've been here before."

Was it our covid test in Connecticut that was just at the 72 hour mark that triggered the random test or could it be that we were asked "Whom are we meeting in Quebec?"  I answered "A couple of other snowmobilers from the States."  Nay.  It must  be a random test.  I just happen to be the lucky one that got randomized two times in a row.

The rest of the drive was fine.  A little black ice north of L'Etape in a snow squall but that was OK.

So we are at the Delta this trip.  We did the covid test and will leave it at the front desk for Purolator to pick up in the morning.

We are going to be here for the week.  A few other QR people are here but you know that if you have been following the posts.

The Delta doesn't have a lock up for the trucks but there is an area set aside for the sleds.  For you that have been here, behind the Delta and behind the old pool area that we used to park the sleds in, there is a nook  in the parking lot where the hallway is that goes to the mall.  In that nook, the Delta put up a chicken wire enclosure that will fit 30 sleds or so.  Not real secure but better than nothing.  I didn't see a camera anywhere.

    So good night to all.

    Jack & Sandi

Great to finally see you again Jack , I did ask Oliver (delta manager) if the coral had cctv and he said yes it had.

This is from another post empty trails!

"We are at the Delta. Just doesn’t seem the same without Bill around.
Not just Bill though. This place is empty.  Quebec trails as a whole are empty.
Trails are in spectacular shape though!!
Those of you that aren’t here are missing out!"

We're in Montreal,  flying up to bagotville today should be at the delta by 4pm .. hopefully see you at some time...

  4. Hi Steve I'm absolutely fuming,  1st  I'm  a Lewis fan .2nd  i don't particularly like Verstappen , Horner,  or marco what ever he's second name is... the stewards got it wrong and panicked that the race would finish and more so the title would end under the safety car . The car's unlaping should have come  round to the back of the pack before the restart.  Anyway it is what it is  I'm really pleased Lewis got his knighthood from prince Charles so hopefully  Sir Lewis Hamilton can do it next season when there  all in the new  spec cars.. (always assuming Lewis doesn't retire)  rant over  lol....

Another confusing item I am reading, you also may be required to take another Covid test at the border crossing, or be given a home test to take with you on your trip. The home test must be done within 24 hours of entering Canada. After completing the home test,  you call a number and a courier comes and picks it up. I am wondering if you need to stick around at the hotel to hand over the test or just leave it with the front desk (or bartender lol). Or if saddle bagging, how will that work?  Very few border crossings have on site testing, so I am thinking?? most will get this home test from a border agent.

I'm reading this is a random test and you may  or may not be required to take it,  and there's no change for this test..

  6. Quick up date,  just had a  message from JD . Bill is now been moved into the surgical ward he is still on oxygen but is making good progress and getting out of bed .She is hoping they will let him out of hospital for this next weekend .  So fingers crossed 👍
