Does anyone know if there’s an official trip duration that might get you a random Covid test once you cross into Canada? I’m guessing if you do a day trip or one night, they won’t ask you to take the test, so it got me thinking if there was a hard break like a week or so.

Have friends that have gone for a afternoon and got the random test. Hopefully they drop the random after tomorrow as they dont require a test to cross the border April 1st.

Just got back from four day trip up in Lac St Jon, and Mt Valin area.

Stayed in Lac Bouchette our last night, truck was in Matawin, checking Thursday night noticed Trail CLOSED from La Tuque to Matawin, we had to add 70 miles to our run before our four hour ride home, not a big deal the trails were very good.

Watch the trail reports, that gave us time to go to plan B to get back to the truck.

I don't know what the heck they are going to do with all the snow they have.

Easter in Mt Valin, sound pretty good!

    Stay Safe

Pat, you got lucky. 355 from Lac Brouchette to Lac Edourd shows closed this morning? Cant be a snow issue.

3 day run for the 4 of us . Doubletree Quebec to the Delta on day 1 . 304, 369 , 23 , 83 .. all perfect into the Delta . Had a great dinner after meeting up with a couple of fellow Vermont guys at the Pizza joint.

Day 2 Freezing rain action in the morning,  oh well , head to the mountains ! ..  Delta to Auberge du Ravage , Lac Moreau. We took 367 out of town across the bridges to the local trail on the right  . Hit the 93 , total snow globe from the ski area  for the next 50 miles  . We did a quick stop at La Chappel to day hi to everyone  .  Lunch at the truck stop then off to the the boat ride  on the 3 . First time ever I think we hit it just right with a last second ride straight on the boat a minute before shoving off shore  .  3 to 383 north,  to 83 south to the Ravage turn  .  Awesome lodge with even more awesome food ! And the home of Borris 🐕 too .

Day 3  Back to the Doubletree,  83 to 3 .. simple enough  . Mix of conditions this day from smooth concrete to bumpy mashed potatoes but we'll take it as a 10 of 10 !

Get out and "get it now"was the the theme of our tour 😁

     UPDATE Friday, 4 March 2022 04:05
Two American snowmobilers aged in their fifties have been fined hefty for excessive speeding in Nord-du-Québec.
The two in their fifties were intercepted by a police officer from the Lebel-sur-Quévillon station on Wednesday on a federated trail near Route 113, in the Baie-James sector, said the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The first snowmobiler received a $1,546 ticket for traveling at 150 km/h in a 70 km/h zone, while the second was caught speeding 121 km/h, an offense that earned him 817  $ Fine.
"These police presences aim to intervene with snowmobilers who have behaviors that compromise the safety of other users on the trails," said the SQ in a press release.

Don, if they caught us on your river yesterday, we probably would be in jail today. In 20 years of riding up there I have never seen it so flat from Richards to the 23 crossing.

  5.  Saw more than a few that take there half out of the middle this week. Bid accident just below Le Tape on thursday, head on, small bridge. Cops and rescue at road crossing, 20 miles south we see rescue sled towing a covered rescue buggy, no info on how they are, but there was enough room for 2 sleds on that bridge. Slow down if you cant stay right?

Sandi and I both got the lucky test this trip at the border this past Sunday.  We took the tests with the laptop at the Delta and refrigerated the tests overnight.  We left the tests at the desk and went snowmobiling.

I looked a couple of days later on DynaCare's website and Sandi's test was negative and my sample had:

    TEST RESULT FOR COVID-19 PCR:
    TEST NOT PROCESSED
An issue with the submitted sample prevented COVID-19 viral testing. Resubmission and retesting of another sample is required to determine infection status.

I imagine this does happen occasionally.  No one has contacted me via e-mail about a re-test and we are heading back to Connecticut tomorrow.  We will see what happens next time I cross the border into Canada.  I feel like the guinea pig.  I'll keep everyone informed if something unusual happens.

    Jack & Sandi

Jack, I think I read somewhere that if you get that result you cant go home until April 15th.😉

I bet you could just toss it in the garbage.  they would never know. Your fine crossing back into the states anyway. I haven't seen anyone post that they got there results while they where there. Especially saddle bagging. besides Trudeuo is in hiding! LOL!

Maybe, but the next time you try to come back to Canada, there might be a check mark by your name and no go? I agree its pretty dumb to give someone a test with no results for 5-10 days and you are only there for 4 days. We were home for 2 days before we got ours back. But they make the rules. so when we go back next week if we get the test we will do them.

I have just been putting in LeCabanons Hotel address and telling them I’m going to St Zenon

kinda hard to tell them Andre’s camp address in the middle of the Zec. LOL

My guess is you would have to get your test to a place the courrier could pick it up.
