Greasemonkey
4 separate accidents in 1 day in Old Forge area this Saturday, the 7th. One fatality, unfortunately. Lot of people coming up there with big iron and not really riding responsibly. Lots of pushing for a "Slow down , stay right" campaign to try to educate people. One was a crash on 4th Lake and the other was a heart attack on trail 5. Sad either way.

When the first policemen arrived, a man and a woman were injured. The age of the victims is unknown. Early investigations revealed that each of them had their own snowmobiles, heading in the opposite direction, and there would have been a face-to-face impact, the Thetford Mines Police Service said. Police officers, firefighters and paramedics provided on-site care and the two victims were taken to hospitals. The death of a 53-year-old man was reported at Thetford Mines Hospital. The lady, aged 37, from Laurierville, was taken to the Saint-Georges de Beauce Hospital Center and transferred to the Enfant-Jésus hospital center. According to the initial findings, alcohol would not be involved in this accident. A technician from the Sûreté du Québec was asked to assist the police at Thetford Mines to reconstruct the scene and determine the causes of the accident.
