Beauceville Clubhouse is a great starting point. Although it isn't "secure" (gated, fenced/locked up) Mike, I and many others have left our rigs there many, many times without incident. (and I have never heard of any issues there - ever) I believe someone is there 24x7 and the HUGE lot is lit. We unload, go inside, get dressed, and grab something to eat before heading out. It is also right at the junction of 55 N/S, 75 N/S.
I like to support these clubhouses because when they close, it hurts all of us.

That is the trick I have heard with the Yamaha engines when cold.....Crack the throttle.

Don’t know the YamiCats well but this was a common issue on any of the Yamaha’s with fuel injection. If you turn the key ‘on’ and don’t hear the pump, don’t bother to turn the key further to crank it: you’ll just drain the battery
The issue is a badly sealed electro-mechanical relay that gets moisture inside and freezes. It was replaced by a solid-state unit. The solid-state unit can be identified by its red color.

Today we headed back west, ran 5 to Mt Carmel, down to 35 to Tourville for lunch. Than 35 to saint Damien de Buckland, than onto Levi’s for the night.  A cold but great ride, the 35 was nicely covered the entire length with good snow, and the 547 trail to 5 in St Gervais was good.
A cold ....but good 200 mile ride.
Tomorrow, back to Maine, for a nice, 1150 mile ride, with a very wide spectrum of riding conditions.
We met several, sleds out and about today, Tourville was busy

That is some serious deep powder. That riding is not for the meek or the old (me).

WOW.......Showed photos to wife & eldest daughter & they immediately became traumatized. They are now suffering from PTSD from a February trip  4+- years back. Brought back a load of memories & great conversation.
Wifes standing over my shoulder viewing the photos. Wife verbally states, "flashback". Daughter is in Maryland viewing photos at my request . Daughter texts back, "flashback". Identical responses. Two peas in a pod.
Again, Thanks JG for your efforts & photos.
    Stay safe....

Dale + Louise - and before that, Dale and Patsy - were a great resource to anyone snowmobiling in the Gaspe. You could call the 800# and get anything from a suggested itinerary for a trip, to help with a downed sled or suggestions for places to stay or eat while on your trip.
If they are shut down, it is a very sad event for Gaspe tourism. They functioned much like a Chamber of Commerce in the US.

I'm sure you + JD are glad to be back in residence Bill. Temperatures and wind through the weekend don't sound good for extended riding so relax and enjoy the scenery. There's certainly no reason to fight the weather or conditions just to ride. Pick your days and enjoy Paradise!

We  left Rockwood Maine this morning,  heading to do some riding today in the Chaudieres. We ran 190 miles today and ended up at the new  hotel in Tetford mines, LA Cache du Domaine.  Very nice accomodations here, and the trails today thru Armstrong, Lac Megantic, Weedon, to Tetford were good for Jan 2.

North to 540 and into Thetford mines.  trails are in great condition, lots of snow here. For people who were wondering, looks like the Balmoral Hotel is closed. Comfort Inn is easy to get to and nice staff, Headed back Tues morn, COLD, hit -30f just south of Thetford mines. Headed back up Saturday to Riv Du Loup area.

Shannon and I followed in Dave and Eddie's footsteps for our first foray of the season.  St Ray to Alma and back.  Midwinter conditions in the parc des Laurentides.  New steed ran well, or so she tells me. A little chilly this morning. 20 below. The river had some serious snow mist coming off it this morning.  I missed that photo op.  Stay on the right and enjoy the season.

You have my respect Iceman to drive those monsters in city steets throught many cars that don't always figure out you need some space! I have a good friend that have did that in Montreal few years and it is not an easy one job, many hours to work in a row and many at night. Thumb up to you my friend!

Us non-city dwellers forget how quickly you run out of places to put snow when dealing with city streets. I'm always impressed when I see one of those snow blowers in Quebec that is so big it travels with a flagman to keep people away from the huge impeller.
    Thanks for a behind-the-scenes-look Ice.
