so here’s a little tidbit of info on the new place in Casey, “Camp de Base” to remember and pass on:
besides the “temporarily closed” sign on the door there was another kindly asking for a 2 dollar donation to come in and warm up/ hang out IF that’s all your going to do.
the “yurts” don’t come with any bedding and are 170 dollars a night for two single beds. IMO....they won’t be getting too many snowmobilirs to spend the night but I wish them well.
no gas this year but supposedly next season. Will see if Norman is back there today as we pass through.
here from last trip
When we went through last week he was open (we had burgers!)but the water had frozen the night before at his cabin and at the Camp de Base building. Guess we'll have to see if he can overcome these obstacles.

The few pictures I took today don’t do justice to how much snow there was. What your seeing are complete stops and a scenic snap here and there. The rest of the time we were hanging on and doing everything you can to stay in these guys tracks and not get sucked off the trail. The further we went along I was convinced we would not have made it with our sleds or at the least had a really, really hard time. Here up on the hill overlooking Parent. The new cell tower is up and we went right by it. It will be active next year. While at the depanneur in Parent (no hassles or problems there whatsoever on restrictions) I ask Andre to ask the girl at the register about 4 sleds coming in here before us. I was guessing there were 4-5 of them and she said that sounded right AND THEY WERE GOING TO THE GOUIN !!!!
Best damn news I’ve heard all day. Now we have a clear shot all the way to Haltaparche if we don’t blow off the trail.
Here .....where they split and headed up. Haltaparche is less than a km around the corner.
Cynthia is the English speaking lady at the store in Parent .. she's awesome !
A foot or more new snow on the trail untracked sounds like heaven to me 🙂

No, zooming out on my computer shows all the places on the trail in detail and if I click on theses 2 places and google them they show up different. Looks like they are not the same?
What are you running for maps ?

Is this from the CBSA website? This is precisely what I have been wondering. Very useful info on this thread. Thanks all for the input.
Now what are we waiting for? Let’s pack up and join RR and the rest of the early bird crew on the mountain.https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/isolation#exemptions
