I'm planning a side x side loop in Gaspe and I'm using the FQCQ iQuad interactive map for routing and planning. I've noticed several areas of the map where the trail abruptly ends in very small towns and/or villages with no understanding on the legality of using the roads for approximately 6 miles to pick up the adjoining trail at the other end of the small town and/or village. In some cases this short 6 miles of road riding will cut out up to 75 miles of trail riding to get to the same point at the other end of the small town and/or village. Can anyone comment on the legality of road riding for very short distances in small towns and/or villages with a side x side in the Gaspe Region. In this instance I'm trying to get from Chandler to Les Quarante by road.
Also, I noticed that the FQCQ iQuad interactive map has all trails ending prior to entering or leaving the Town of Gaspe. The points of interest still show up on the interactive map, but the trails have been removed. While doing some further research I found information indicating that the Town of Gaspe has chosen to remove itself from the federation and therefor the federation removed the trails from their interactive map. Can anyone confirm this finding? If so, does the Town of Gaspe still allow for the use of side x sides within the town limits and how do you know what roads/trails to use. I'm not sure if the Town of Gaspe has issued their own version of an ATV/UTV map.
Thanks in advance for any help with these issues.
