    Hi All,

We are doing a 2 day ride from Beauce to RDL and back this weekend.  Any thoughts on TQ55 vs TQ35 Vs TQ5? right now?  Maybe out one way and back another?  Normally I wouldnt even think about it but with the warm weather maybe one way is better?

Any idea if there more snow toward the river or toward Maine right now?

    Any tips appreciated...

You should be fine. We left from Vermont last week to RDL. Close to the border would be a no-go today, but from Beauce should still be fine, 55 to St Panphille Golf course, 547 to 35 to 526 to RDL. Came back on 5 to 75. Conditions were great, RDL a little low around town, but everywhere else had plenty of snow, and a little more tonight.

And yes if you used a 1 inch fork instead of a 3 inch fork you would eat less.  Lol

I can still get fat with a 1 inch fork. Stupid entitled people will still do stupid shit with a 1.5 or 3 inch track. 20 years ago a 1.5 track was huge and you saw the same stuff from the same people.  Make BIG fines and make them stick. Put that out on the internet so these idiots know its real. We can take the pledge here, but we are not the people doing the damage.

    Google Translate:

Snowmobilers who want to have fun this winter on the Monts-Valin, in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, will now have to register and pay to access it, as well as to travel on the territory of the ZEC Martin-Valin. This pilot project stems from the decision in assembly, a few days earlier, to open the ZEC year-round. The off-trail snowmobile activity, for example, will cost $10 per day per snowmobile and additional patrollers will be deployed on the territory. “There is a lack of coordination to fully understand what is coming this winter,” said the general manager of the Federation of Snowmobile Clubs of Quebec, Stéphane Desroches. We were not consulted directly.” The unveiling of the project provoked many reactions among members of the ZEC. Currently, the only information available about the project is on the ZEC Martin-Valin Facebook page. A video of the assembly was published there, but the management of the organization is slow to unveil the project publicly. Its director, who was to call back the TVA Nouvelles team on Monday, did not do so.

Despite certain concerns, the Fédération des Clubs de motoneigistes du Québec, which is working on a project aimed at better regulating off-trail snowmobiling in Québec, sees the initiative in a positive light. "It's good and I congratulate the ZEC since it could encourage others to further develop their territory in winter, but I still wonder how they are going to check all the snowmobilers on such a large territory", he indicated.

Looks like $10 for off trail riders?

Sorry to say, the MUST SEEs are the Rt5 trail you are not going on. Best views are on the St Lawrence.

  5.   Hi Jack and Sandi, we were up in Mt Valin a few weeks ago and the area is way below what we have seen in the past. Dont know if you have ever driven up to Km 31, but its worth the drive early season. The 93 and the Escomin/ Pelchat trail are the best this early. When you go over the big bridge go east on 172 about 15 miles and you will see a big sign and left turn. A little longer drive than the ski area, but takes alot of the traffic and junk trails out.   Good luck and have a great season. Steve
