iceman
Unreal some of the best trails I've seen in a long time and its on Jan 2. Cold is an understatement and today was not for the Rookies out there. Wicked cold. Just finished up riding with Scorpionbowl for the past 6 days. Covered some ground for sure. All trails are super, 10/10 Saturday Went from Relais Iceman to Kanawata via Lac Repos and the Kanawata Express. Sunday from Kanawata down to St Michelle des Saints and out through the Parc to the Cafeteria and on to Coin Lavinge, then down thru St Come and stayed ay Vieux Moullin. Monday from Vieux Moullin we looped back thru St Come then down south and to Rawdon. Then rode a bunch of trails near there and headed for St Gabriel de Brandon. (lot's of new territory for us explored here) stayed at Auberge resto-Pub St. Gab. Tuesday we went south and headed west toward Joilette (love all the red sticks with Joilette stenciled on each one) went on around and again we were exploring rode a bunch of new stuff for us here and ended up in L'Assomption just outside montreal area. Wanted to press on west to try and see how far we could get that way west but time was running out. We turned and burned and ran the 3 to late lunch in Berthierville and then back east on 3 then 3/63 to St Etienne and back home for New Years with Mrs. iceman. Wed. A little delayed start as planned but headed west on 3 and down thru Louiseville and then up thru 350 to Lac Blanc. Then on to St Damien and up 23 to Real Masse. (i have been by Real Masse maybe many many many times. Usually its too close for Lunch and too close to sleep) So we finally decided to stay there and very glad we did. Great stop and nice folks. Gotta love the Bonus of that heated sled shelter on a night like last night. Oh yeah baby. The Ladies were living large in the heated Garage. Thurs headed out left 8:30 am temp -30c brrr wicked cold. 23 to Cabanon for gas. arrived at Cabanon. Saw lots of sleds all Parked in Corral. Guy comes out to pump the gas and says "you guys are brave", We head for the 345 and go across to the 360 then turn left toward Repo's and take the M20 back to 360 and then to Mattawin. Stopped to warm up at Marineau there took some lunch then back on 360 then right and down to Auberge Mekinac and we run the river back to Shawinigan. Returned home at 2:30pm. Fantastic Condtions and saw 6 sleds all day. 1 solo guy on 345 and right near Mattawin a Tour Group of 5 sleds(tearing it up at about 10 mph) when i die and go to hell that will be my punishment. To ride 3rd in line of an eternal tour group doing top speed of 15 mph. Get up here and get out there.

We are headed this week end to update some of our cloth's. It is starting to look like this may be one of the coldest winters we had in a while. Jackstraw
Sounds great, we should be headed that way in the next week. The tour group was probably freezing there ass's off! Always get a kick out of the crap bubble shield helmets they use. Great in those temps. I guess any other helmet the whole group would be fogged and iced up, LOL

towing
Great report Iceman !!! you ride a lot of my backyard playground, doing such a week ride in Christmas holidays is absolutely outstanding! and most people report low traffic in the area which is pretty normal because the opened trail network is huge, unlike what we usually have at the same time of the year... Global warming of the planet is not so apparent here.... at least today! you guys are real ones. Thanks again for the report Alain

They are Green/Club trailz and want to make sure they were ready to go. Gas Stops? Very important.... Thanks GutZ
iceman
Gutz everthing is golden. Just rode 360 to 345 to Cabanon yesterday all good. About 90 miles to Cabanon then 80-85 to gas at Mattawin 345 to 360. Then 360 back to st joseph or down river back to Shawinigan. All good. Not too far between gas. MrGutz
Gas along the way? How about the yellow trail down the lake or river it cuts from 360 to Shawinigan??? Lake/Water/Rivers scare us...... GutZ Edited January 3, 2014 by MrGutz
iceman
Ran river yesterday all very safe just follow sticks. Not bad at all. Cold yesterday buf fine much shorter to go this way. Gas at Cabanon (cash only 1.57 a liter) then at mattawin. After crossing bridge and road atthe exit of Parc on 360 go up hill there is a T intersection continue straight down hill into gas station lot. Resto across the street. Then back up to T make a right go until you see orange trail on right takes you to river. Trails all groomed perfectly.

viper2
360 is a really nice trail used to like when it ran up the other side of the river. The orange M-20 is a really nice trail as well if you need a bite to eat the resto across from gas station in Mattawin always has good food. Have fun
