    Depends on how adventurous you want to get crossing the decelles river.  😇 if approaching from 83 westbound from Haltaparche.

    Option 2 is via Lac Dandurand via Ti Rouge.  You would have to get some local intel at Kanawata in order to make sure it’s DOOable.

     Option 3.  If there has been recent snow and you beat the plow, you could road ride from Casey west into town

    How about heading further west for option B, base camp style.   Drive right up to the Forestel in Val D’Or and do loops, can’t go wrong there.

    Or head out eastbound to the Roquemont in St Raymond and run up 23 to the Saguenay region.  Either base camp out of the Delta in Jonquiere, or loop out to the coast of the St Lawrence via 83 day two. Then south on 3 back to st Raymond.  Add or subtract miles as you like, but I would opt for the longer route east via the north side of the Saguenay river using 93 or the Pelchat local trail north of 93

    Our maiden voyage is complete.  Like many of our QR.com friends we also hit the trails this weekend.  Great to feel the Quebec gold under the skis again.  We left Sainte Anne Saturday morning headed to Clova.  I don’t have too many pics to share because I spent in the night in Clova but my phone stayed at the Horseshoe…I retrieved it fully charged the next day at no extra cost.  😂  Merci to my two favorite ladies at the Horseshoe for that.

    They are still hauling on the Wabash so that kinda put a damper on things for a few miles.  If you still think there was no visible impact of the forest fires this summer you are in for a rude awakening.

    As per always we had a great time in Clova.  We ran into quite a few people we have met there before and it just cemented that common purpose feeling you can only get at those special places. 

    Also ran into Jim Jameson outside the Horseshoe after the phone retrieval mission was complete.  Good to see him still at it.  I hope that will be me one day.  Retired and racking up miles in La Belle Province year round by sled or SxS. 

    Here are the few pictures I have.   As you can see by the snot frozen to my jacket, there was a slight chill to the air.

    It can be done.  I would take 83 all the way to 73 then head south.  They have a couple radar traps around LaTuque.  One just past the clubhouse once you cross the main highway in town, where the stoplight has a sled.  Use the pedestrian crosswalk button, lol.  
    They also like to watch the railbed just south of town.  
    The rest of that route is superhighway. The pain in ass is the last part into sweet baby St Ray because the local trail is closed.  They call it “Le Renversi”.

    Love Faillon, great place but not having a chef on staff anymore really cuts down my desire to spend the night.  The new owners are great and the view from the rooms upstairs is hard to beat in the morning.  I just don’t think cereal and toast is enough for my stomach to make the next stop 100 miles east.  The last time we spent the night there I eat one of the best bavette steak dinners I have ever had.  I hope they decide to go back to the chef on site plan.  I have a hard time believing they can’t afford it when I see new chalets all along the beach.

    Sorry to hear about the injuries Jack.  If anything else at least you know the Irish/Polish head is hard enough to not give in to the obstacles preventing your maiden voyage to Quebec this season.  Albeit a little later than usual. I look forward to your first trail write up when it does happen.  I may not comment on them, but I do always read them in there entirety.  Cheers from George and Shannon.

    Post another Let’s Go video when you get back.  Still the highest quality QC trail riding clips I have ever watched.  Love them.  I met the Professor or the Chemist can’t remember which one at Pacini restaurant in Alma years back. I didn’t see you that time.

    Bonjour Alain, I had forgotten about the fox joining our impromptu summit gathering, that zoom made for a great shot.  Yes the bridge is indeed the one that crosses the Peribonka river at the old Scoobyraid (Otis) end of the 49th parallel trail.  I bet you laughed while digging out that picture of us from back in 2008.  

    PA Dragon - that middle pic looks like Mont APICA on the way to Monts Vallin where I believe the other 2 shots are from.

    Fuse - the cave is a cool place.  I will never forget meeting Bill at the HI back in the day, he ended up taking us for a guided tour out to it the next day.

    NYNH Skidoo- second pic has “that skidoo feeling” to it.

    Steve -  I have never seen the rock in the winter, guess I will have to add that to the list. Classic Gaspe, like the MSP lookout.  I had bad timing when I was at the lookout in MSP, my pic below.

    Grumpers - Add some pics to the post, if you have videos you gotta have pics somewhere…lol
