He gets tired quickly, must take frequent naps, often falls, has trouble speaking, has continuous pain in his shoulders and hips, has lost many long-term memories and has very poor short-term memory.
This is me after a day of riding on snowmobile trips 😜

Any way to get the website in English? Have you ridden the trails in the zec and how are they well groomed I assume not much traffic. Where is the main entrance to the private system?
I did ride the private trail system last year. Trails are very well maintained and worth the extra money. After two days you’ll want to venture out.
There are these guys from Toronto that have a YouTube channel (Sledaddics), they were up there for a week and did post a video of doing the private trail system.

Hey Largedaryl…
We unloaded at Km13, only because we were going to be super tight on fuel to get to Kipawa. I took two water bottle size of gas and carried it in my backpack. Sleds arrived on fumes.
The 43 was groomed with a bit of fresh snow on top. I see on the map it hasn’t been groomed now for awhile.
Yesterday I rode from Montpellier to Mont Laure. Trails were rock hard and smooth the whole way up. Sections where the trail is on roads are not nice. This little bit of snow we are getting now will help.

I'm assuming you rode up to Kipawa and back? Where did you unload? Public lot or?
Yes it was a day trip, approx 187km each way. I had a bit more track spin than others with a 1” track lol.
There is a parking area in Swisha at the Park Office. A lot of people will drive to KM 13 and unload there but then you are parking on the side of the road. -
Strange, I didn’t edit the post and the pics still came up as links.

Had a great ride on Friday with a few lads. Ottawa received a lot of rain on Thursday and will need a bit of snow to get back on track.
Two hours north makes a huge difference. We left Ottawa at 6am drove up to Swisha, unloaded our sleds and rode to Kipawa. Round trip was 375km of beautiful trails. If you have not been up here, I highly recommend it.

Living in Ottawa has its perks as I get to ride Ontario and Quebec on the same day. I thought I would give you guys a little taste of my local riding area.
I live on the west end of Ottawa right on the outskirts of the city with an rail bed that the club grooms right in my back yard. Thursday Bucky and decide Thursday is the day to ride as Friday is going to be numb biting. The plan is to cross the Ottawa River at Fitzroy Harbour where the clubs on the Ontario/Quebec were given permission to use an old train bridge to get over the river, ride up past Shawville and then to Ladysmith Hotel for lunch and then back home. Easy 300km ride.
Just a few pics of the new Bridge, Warm up shack at Campbell’s Bay and of course the infamous Ladysmith Hotel.

I ride with my kid and 2 or 3 of his buddies. We had one who wouldn't listen and said no problem he won't get cold. 20 below and he got frost bite on his fore head. My land they laughed him. So me being the adult I bought him a big wind shield for the next trip. Now all was said was your sled is ugly. He took it with a smile and said no more frost bite. He doesn't use it around home but when going to Quebec it's on his sled for sure. It's amazing the mean things they say to each other and just laugh.
Your sons friends are good guys to tease the boy with the big windshield. This is what makes them tough and can handle criticism. To many softies being brought up in this world these days.

Some may not be, but I'm agitated at just the idea of being pulled over repeatedly and being asked for my papers.
Your best bet is to just stay home!

Is there anywhere safe and secure to unload at in the Shawville area? Looking for somewhere to leave the rig for a daytrip.
I think pretty much anywhere in the Shawville area you are safe to park. If you would like you are more than welcome to park at my office on the Ontario Side (between Renfrew and Arnprior right on Hwy 17; Sea Hawk Homes) it is about a 70km run to the new sled bridge to cross the river. Even if you decide to do a saddle bag tour you can leave it there.

This was our path last year. Was 7 days but didn’t miss anything.
I might need two weeks for this route with all the stops for those Martini stops 😜

Back at LeCabanon now
Man, that last stretch between St Michele and here would give Tug Hill a run for its money.
Think I leave LeCabanon at 7 am after they griom.it tonight just to get even
Today's loop adventure
You should have gone to Mont Valin is was top notch there last week, 😜 .
I didn’t post any pics of the ride as I lost my phone the first 30 min riding. New jacket and the pockets don’t stay zipped up!!
Enjoy your ride, the area used to be my first ride of the year.

I ride Mont Valin as my first ride of the year and last and don’t find it that bad. However I have never been there at Christmas time. We are a group of eight heading there next Thursday till Monday and staying at Onatchway. First time staying there and will be trying the private trail system at least a couple of times.
No doubt the area can get busy, but most people are off trail riders and it’s only a zoo from Valinouet to Auberge/La Chapelle. Get past that it’s all good.

Anybody else feeling taunted & tempted?...

I’m leaving on the 10th, being going up there as our last ride of the year for more than 15 years now. One year we were there mid May.
