  1. Day 2 Out’ve the gate we are blessed with groomed trails from the evening before and not just local but the whole friggen day. 595 Nord couple tracks just to stir it up then gas at La Cache and I have to tell you guys new renos here and no more mystery soup anymore. Cross over to Murdockville a few tracks coming our way but our side we were the first. Blue jay day over here so very scenic into Murdockville. 597 Sud as expected super fast to the 5. 1/2 hour out’ve Perce we were greeted with Quebec’s finest, why is it I can’t get away from these guys? These guys were the kind you wanna get stopped by, they actually let sit on their sled for a photo shot. Where we staying hmmmm I can tell you we’re eating a someone’s Table.

  2. Day 3 Off to a beautiful start, up before the sunrise and profited from it. Changed up our scheduled route today for a shorter trek, given our location on the peninsula I figure some sight seeing will get in the way of riding and lengthen the day more than we like. Stay tuned for part deux.

  3. Morning Jack! Mixed reviews on the 850 so far. I realize that the sled is not far out of break in, but this thing is sucking oil fast. Also, I'm taking many more litres of fuel every stop compared to JGs 1200. Granted, I'm leaning pretty heavy on the flipper, but I need to keep pace with the Trailblazer! One more thing.....10 clicks outside of Perce last night all of the guages lit up and were flashing intermittently. Did that a few times, then all systems seemed normal. Not a good feeling when we're as far away from the truck as we can get!

  4. Got into Drakkar yesterday and did a quick 115 mile ride east. Trails were in great shape plenty of snow. Passed a groomer around 4pm on trail 3. Cold but beautiful day.

  5. Come on Bill, I can just picture you with the back pack, long track and a green mohawk glued to the top of your helmet. Leaving big piles in the trails for us old trail riders.

  6. Did it last year all the way up the north shore into Labrador and loop thru Labrador then back down from Lab City to Forestville. Once you cross the Moisie River it's game on.

    Gaspe trip

Left late today, had to do some electrical troubleshooting on some heated gear. Hoping to have some before us to break trail. Left about 9:15, had a couple tracks ahead of us heading East. Hard to tell how much new snow with all the wind but some places up high had about a foot. Visibility was poor at times with the blowing and drifting snow and it got colder as the day went on. Rolled into Murdochville about 3:00 and decided to stay the night and hope tomorrow brings groomed trails and clear skies.

  10. No surprise....& now the politicians in NH have agreed to allow Hydro Quebec to run aerial electrical transmission lines from the tip of NH down through the White Mountains to the residents of Massachusetts. The H.Q. project is titled "Northern Pass". Say NO to the "Northern Pass" project. If it must come through, bury the lines. Save northern NH's scenic views. Or an additional alternative is to piggyback or run it through Vt. where they presently have aerial electrical transmission lines. Paddy O

    Montagne du Diable

They are just super, and the lodge and chalets are comfortable and inviting. We're slated to arrive there this coming Friday as part of our annual "Club Trip". They'll be hosting over 50 Hill & Gully Riders as a group for the first time. The re-route of the TQ 53 through Papineau-Labelle shortens the ride from the clubhouse to a bit over 300 klicks, which makes it very do-able for a large group (though a number of our gang are trucking to Mont-Laurier and starting from there ....). Can't wait ... I feel like a kid before Christmas!

    Trailblazer & friends

Boys if I could offer my $0.02 worth the fuel and oil consumption could be directly related to the GPS summaries included with your daily report. 61kph avg tells me you are leaning hard on the flipper, and the 150kph too speed says the same. Oil and fuel consumption are directly related to to flipper pressure!! LOL Have a great loop, keep taking lots of pictures.

    Gaspe trip

Left Hotel Fraser and headed west, trails were all groomed up again today. We stopped at a few of the snowmobile club relays, always great stops. Traffic starting to ramp up, saw more today than the whole week combined. Stayed at PALC for the night

    Gaspe trip

Left Murdochville yesterday to a groomed 597 heading south. At the intersection with 5 we headed to Percè thanks to the iMotoneige app showing it had just been groomed. Rode into Percè and it's the best that trail has been in years, groomed right into the Table Roland. Had lunch there then drove along the road and out on the pier for some pics. The sun was out to start our day but by the time we got to the rock it was snowing and gray but still got some decent pics. Headed back 5 west toward Chandler and stayed at the Hotel Fraser for the night. About 2.5 miles off trail but this place has a great restaurant and nice rooms.

  18. took 11 guys , ONCE!! First day, 1 mile into the trip, out on the lake, Vinny's brother seizes his 583 rotax, dirty carbs. 2 .5 hour delay to get a rental and leave his for new cylinders and repairs. While were are doing this Brian is jumping snow banks in the parking lot, and looses a contact lens, I am getting heart burn at this point. We are finally on the trail and things are going well when I realize there is no one behind me, 60 miles out, now playing the waiting game, now going back to find everyone 2 miles back, taking a break and smoking. Soon I realize we are down a sled but everyone is present. WTF!!! Chuck missed a turn, jumped of and his borrowed brothers sled is down a ledge on the side of a pond in a 10 foot drift. 2 hrs later it is out and not a scratch on it, but now Chuck will not go over 40mph#%$&^!!@#!! Day 1 10 hours 85 miles and I am still smiling but seriously wondering what I am being punished for.I spend the night trying to figure out how I can salvage the trip and my mind and remain friends with all these guys.We ended up doing 650 miles in 5 days, these guys still talk about how great it was, we are still all friends, it was a once in a lifetime trip for them. God bless you and I hope you guys have a great ride, go with the flow and keep smiling.
